Pat, you're talking Zone 2, not FSR, right? Lots of time between now and May. What's up?

Ah yes, I got them confused. I was planing on doing Zone 2 this weekend, but my rear Moton has sprung a leak and needs to be sent back in for repair. Another corner balance and alignment is in store.

Registered for FSR today.

We are about 1.5 months away. Everyone getting their prep work done early? Some good brake fluid and track pads, bleeding the brakes, decent rubber, etc, etc, etc...

I can't wait to get back to VIR!

It looks like there are no open slots for green! I guess I could do just run the $50 Intro to DE course.

Yep, looks like green and blue are full. You can always sign up and get put on the wait list. I'd say there is a good chance you will get in as long as you are flexible(might be down to the last minute).

Highly doubtful I'm making this now. Will give it a shot, but doesn't look promising.

You should be ready...the motor shouldn't take more than a week to build

Getting the motor isn't the issue—though I'm burning a little time getting a balanced/lightened/blueprinted rotating assembly. There's the R&R (I've never done it), there's troubleshooting whatever I screw up, there's break-in mileage, potentially tuning touch-up. And I'm going to be out of town the last weekend in April.

Anybody interested in renting the skid pad on the day before this event in the afternoon for 2 or 3 hours?

I think 6 min to 10 max people would be a good number.

List so far:
Me

Hi David,
The PCA clubs have a good group of instructors (most are trained and certified) so no matter who you get you should be OK. Also if you have any differences with your instructor it's no big deal to switch.

Typically the Chief instructor will match students with like cars so there's a chance you'll get Brent, Dave or I. I'm not sure if Pete is going but if he does I'm sure he'll be instructing. FSR matches 1 student to 1 instructor which also allows for lots of time with the student and instructor to go over things so you get a BIG BANG for your buck with FSR.

I haven't heard back from VIR on the skid pad but will call them Monday.

IMO skid pad work is essential especially for green students because if you don't have confidence catching the car you can be tight and nervous which is never a good place for your body to be in when your body must respond smoothly and quickly. Even more important it will teach you how to stay ahead of the rear end or front end by sensing early on when one or the other is loosing grip which will allow you to respond quickly before the car gets out of shape keeping it nice and balanced at speed.

This should be a great event

So for the skid pad we have enough:
Me
Dave
Brent
Jonathan
David
Scrub

That's easily enough people. Shouldn't cost more than 50 each

Again I'll check on Monday and if we can get it I'll reserve it.
