If you've never been on track, no worries. Your car has to pass a basic tech inspection and you will sit through classroom instruction to get brought up to speed on track protocol as well as be provided an in car instructor that will square you away while on track.

Hey everyone, a bunch of us are getting together for this event and wanted to see if we could get some more people(Rich, Dan, and John for starters) to come out and have some fun on one of the best tracks in the U.S. VIR is, hands down, my favorite track. I dream of the uphill esses and drifting around oak tree. This should be 3 days on the full course and the price the last couple of years has been $450(yes, for all 3 days) if memory serves me correctly. I'm sure a Saturday-Sunday only option is available if you can't make all three days. I have ran at their events for 3 years now(and Fritz and Pete for no telling how many years) and these guys are seriously one of my favorite organizations to run with. Tons of track time and good people. I am planning on doing this event along with Fritz Flynn, PtrHahn, Dave McLaughlin, and some RX8 guys. I'll update the thread once registration is open.

Hey Brent, I am planing on on attending this. Neil from Jax has invited me on up for the event and has offered his instructional services - he's a Porsche and BMW certified instructor. So I think this will be my first track event!

A few things will determine if I can go or not...Mainly getting my car running again. As long as I get my car running and I don't take this new job then I'll definitely be down. Will your instruction services be available Brent?

Yes Sir.

Fritz and Pete will also be instructing. Probably Dave Mc as well. Lots of good instructors with alot of seat time in an FD and at VIR... great opportunity to learn the car, track, or both for anyone on the fence.

Awesome David! It'll be a fun event. Look forward to meeting you and checking out your car.

I have a feeling my car won't be together in time :(

Brent Dalton 02-14-12 10:58 AM

Come and hang out anyways Tom! Most of us have passenger seats and would be happy to give you a ride at speed. One ride with Fritz will have you hooked for life. Controlled chaos.

Arthur3328 02-14-12 12:48 PM

I will be attending this event as well! Don't forget to check out tracktime4cars.com for similar track time for people in the tristate!
Over 20 days at njmp!
I'll sign up this week

Damn 8 hour drive in the fd, do laps then drive 8 hour back?

I wish I trust my car enough to take on a task that great.

Why not go?

Gringo Grande 02-15-12 12:37 AM

Because I can't drive worth a shit as my off road adventure proved. Hahaha! Although as noted in my build thread I did find part of my suspension broken just like I felt.

Ruler_Mark 02-15-12 01:05 AM

Excuses excuses excuses...

RX007CYM 02-15-12 04:34 AM

I haven't been to VIR yet. This will be awesome. Subscribed.

Herblenny 02-15-12 08:54 AM

I would love to do this... one day.. but I need to look at my financial status when time comes..

ptrhahn 02-15-12 09:12 AM

This is a great event, cool club, and the deal of the century for 3 days on the full course. It's almost not worth instructing.

Phil I think it's about 4 hours from my house. You can stage/sleep here and then we can drive on up.
