very stong smell of gas tru the vents

I get the strongest smell after i drove the car somewhere, get back into the car, stick the key to the on postion ,and the heat was on and the smell of gas blows tru the vents where it burns your eyes. Sometims i get home and hug my girlfriend she smells it in my clothes. Where should i start looking. I've tried opening the hood after a drive. engine off, and can only smell a hint of gas.

As someone who has had their car catch fire I strongly suggest not driving the car anymore until having it looked at.

It's very common for FD's to develop fuel leaks at the fuel pulsation damper, around the injectors or the fuel lines. To inspect these areas requires removal of the upper intake manifold. My car had a pinhole in the short rubber line between the primary and secondary fuel rails that finally leaked gas under pressure directly on top of a hot motor while I was at a gas pump. If I had not noticed the fire instantly and put it out with my extinguisher my car would have been one of many that has burnt up. I was lucky. Even then the insurance claim was almost $5000 and honestly just looking you wouldn't think that much harm had been done. Everything electrical and the fuel system itself under the manifold was destroyed.

Have it checked out immediately; preferable someone with knowledge of the FD.
