Very high idle

I've searched "very high idle", "super high idle", " accelerating on its own" and " TPS problems" , until I'm blue int the face.

Quick facts.

PFC, single turbo base map during break in period of new motor.

Idle is over 3000rpm

It's enough to drive the car without using the gas pedal

Car was running fine days before, and as far as I know, nothing has changed mechanically.

If I turn on the O2 sensor from the commander, idle falls to 2500 and bounces.

Ok, so I first thought, well, it's a vacuum leak. But yesterday, it idled at 3000 for a few minutes then dropped to normal idle and ran smoothly. Wouldn't that rule out a vacuum leak as it would be constant???

Also thinking maybe TPS, but, like I said, it hasn't been touched?

Tips and suggestions greatly appreciated as I now have unwanted, uncontrolled, cruise control lol.

If all your hoses are ok then sound like your iac might be sticking. Take it off and give a clean.

Morning update. Another possible fact that may be important

If I adjust the " F/C " rev settings via the commander, I can decrease the high idle. By no means does it fix it, but pulling the F/C AE down, brings the idle down by an equal amount.

ttpower, ill research the AIC

If the Power FC has just been installed, were the three wires cut at the ECU?

If not, the AWS will be held wide open and it will idle at 3000RPM.

I tried my Power FC before cutting those wires and it did just that!

I had this happen a few years ago for me and what fixed it was the dashpot - it was set way off.

Run a quick search on here if you're not familiar with it but it's basically a damper so your throttle doesn't slam shut after a wot run. However it can be set way out of whack so that it basically opens the throttle a bit.

That's my guess

Ok. I took off half day from work to try and solve this.

When i began to tinker with it, I put my fingers over this large hole. The idle returned to normal!

What is this hole? I don't have my stock TB nearby to reference. I believe this one is a rotor sports TB.

Oh and I should've mentioned there's considerable suction at the hole

And I checked, but I do not have a dashpot

Well I think I've solved it.

As far as I can tell, the hole I was wondering about is the intake for the ISC. So, I took it off cleaned all kinds of black gunk out with carb cleaner aaaaaannnnndddd!

VOILA! So far it's idling very well! I further adjusted the 2 other screws (can't remember their names :/) and its settled, I think, better than it was before this started.

Haven't had a chance to actually drive it yet. Ill report back soon

Hahaha, well, got her back together and started up to go for a drive, back to bouncing idle, lol. I unplugged the ISC and adjusted the idle screw and went ahead with me drive as I needed it, ha.

So I may have an actual failed ISC.
