Well, more of an fyi showcasing poor planning on my v-mount setup. So there is the relay box on the bumper/hood latch support that needed to be moved to fit the intercooler, so I just rolled it underneath the support and zip-tied it, seemed fine, still easy to get to from the bumper inlet. Last week I decided to wash the car and do a light spray under the hood like I have done many times before, hit it with the blow gun and let it dry for a day. Drove the car a few days later at night and when I got home and shut the car off, opened the door the headlight buzzer went off but the headlights were not on, nothing was on. Turned the lights on then off and the buzzer stopped, for about 2 seconds then the running lights and cluster lights came on. about twenty more cycles and I said f-it and just kicked out the main batt relay. Well last night my cluster lights started flickering and would completely go out when i hit the brakes. After about 5 stops they stayed off. Apparently mounting the relay box inverted and then flooding it with water is not a good idea as water tends to work its way into the relays itself and start corroding everything. Long boring story short, if your relay box is mounted like mine was you should think about changing it before relays start dying.

When i installed my vmount i had that problem too. I decided to relocate the relay box. While doing this, you have to extend a wires. I thought it was an easy job, just took a little time to plan every thing out.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

 

It happend me too. I put some plastic around the box. During the winter I will relocate the box instead.

 

I was just warning of this in another thread. Clean them up with some cleaner, CLR works great on corrosion.

bahahah i did the same thing with my fan relays... moved em under the pass headlight... what a fail.. car was overheating ahahha
