Updated alternator bracket
Hey guys -
So quite some time back I bought a '96+ JDM long block for parts. In '96 a lot of little things were changed - the black box instead of the rat's nest, different ECU wiring, etc. One of the small things I noticed was the alternator bracket.
On the 93-95 cars there's a bracket that bolts to the front iron on the engine with 2 bolts that has the engine lifting hook on it. Then, you have a separate bracket for the alternator adjustment. In '96 they combined the 2 brackets into one. I'm not sure how much weight it saves but it's probably a little bit and it's also just a lot cleaner looking.
I found this website with the later parts catalog, you can see it pictured -
https://mazda.epcdata.ru/rx-7/ajfa07...&part_grp=1800
Part number there is N3F1-18-360
Amayama shows it's not available, but I don't know if it's an updated number out there or something. Would be cool to find a good source for this!

it looks like N3F1-18-360 is the right number, and it is NLA, maybe a good candidate for the aftermarket?

I've thought the same thing, a stainless one would be killer

Nengun shows it as available. I think that usually means someone has checked the price and stock recently. https://www.nengun.com/oem/parts/MTE...ljYWwgU3lzdGVt

You both make cool stuff like this. Seems like there is a good amount of interest. I'll buy one!

Nope, that's a side mount bracket to move the alternator down where the AC compressor normally goes.

Looks great! I have the stainless oil filler neck with a big -10 AN fitting in the front... it just barely fits with the existing engine mount bracket and it makes tightening/loosening that connection a big pain. Going to this all-in-one bracket would make things a lot easier!
Any idea yet on pricepoint or when it could be available?
