underdrive pulley... worth it????

is the unorthodox underdrive pulley worth putting in? i have done a few of the minor mods i am going to be doing, but i looked into the pulley and wanted to know if it will add a decent amount of hp? my goal is 240whp with reliablity mods and a cat back. maybe hoping to get a little more with this if i could. also will it affect the a/f ratios at all? i cant see how it would but just wanted to make sure....

Go with one of the bolt-on ones, not an entire replacement.

If your goal is 240rwhp, no, it's not worth it. There are better ways to get to that goal.

BTW sng,

240rwhp is beyond easy. Mine did that with a downpipe and cat-back w/ nothing else (244).

But I think your on the right path with reliability mods first.

Couldn't of said it better myself.
Buy a midpipe and a ecu upgrade Sure it cost more but it will definitley give your car the kick in the pants your looking for.

i would be careful about the full pully replacement. i have heard that you must be careful when you pull it off so that a washer doesnt come loose. i have also read that that the rotaryextreme underdrive pully eliminates that problem...

OK guys, I have been curious of the underdrive pulley mod myself. I thought I read somewhere they weren't worth it or you had to remove teh air pump or something(?)

So, can someone say for the record their purpose, and are they worth it. Nothing else implied in those questions.

I didn't feel any difference when I installed my Greddy pullies and Pettit main pulley. Spend your money somewhere else.

If your gonna get a pulley kit and want to remove the airpump, I would recommend the Rotary Performance (www.rx7.com) Triple Race Pulley Kit. Comes with alt pulley, water pump, and main pulley. Also with both belt for the airpump removal. Very well made kit that I installed in under 1.5 hours.
M-P

Oh yea, they will also buy your airpump back from you. If you call ask for Rocky. That is who I dealt with.
