UIM Vacuum Hose Question *pics*

It's time to play: match those vacuum hoses!!! Yay!

I marked them well when I took them off (so I thought) but when the car started it made a nice screeching noise that sounded like it was coming from the engine. Not something you want to hear. It also gave me light white smoke for about 5 seconds. I promptly ran in to my brother when I let out the clutch, lol, and then shut off the car.

I want to make sure I get it right this time, but I'm having problems following the diagrams.

Here are my pics.

FRONT:

BACK:

FRONT:
Obviously H plugs onto 7 and J plugs onto the front of the pressure chamber.

BACK:
I'm also pretty sure that D plugs onto 2 and that C plugs into 1.A and B plug into 3 and 4 repsectively. Woot, got the rear end sorted out. I really needed to write this post Please double check me though.

Fill in my blanks, and thanks so much!

Just look at the diagram in the manual. It's pretty easy to follow using the check valves and other components as guides.

gennerally speaking, it's not terribly critcal which nipple each of those hoses go to, as long as the correct hoses go to the UIM. All they are looking for is a vaccum source.

If you are hearing terrible noises, you may have a different problem.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. I know I crossed up two of them going to the UIM before and had no secondary boost.

I hope not All I did so far was take the UIM off and put it back on. No leaks, car started and ran, all electrical connections fine, no error lights; just a horrible noise and possibly screwed up vacuum lines. It MAY have been the belt, but I wasn't willing to run the car long enough to find out. Now that I know it is going back together properly I'll be able to find out.

Make sure all of the arrows on those check valves is pointing the right direction, & also do the blow through test on them.

I had a check valve that would honk like a duck when you blew through it. I cranked up the boost & split it in half.

i've read people comlaining about similar noise when the ACV gasket got misaligned during reassembly. it never happened to me personally so i can't give you the details, but i'm sure you can search for old threads. just a thought.
