two oil coolers???

hello from greece again....i got my rx7 fd3s some days ago and i ve been studying day and night to learn what to do ....today i noticed it has two oil coolers (one on the left and one on the right...)
on the reliability mods it says to put an oil cooler kit...but i thought the car only had ONE so i should put another one....but it has two of them...!
so is it really needed? why? because they are small or any other reason? should i change its lines too or just to get two larger coolers?
i found this , do u think its needed?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAZDA...5160QQtcZphoto

and sth else! it has no CAT , just a large exaust system! but it has the pre-cat on....plus two K&N air filters (small ones)
if i install a downpipe , will it be unsafe for the car? may it run lean this way?
and sth last , the idle is 1100.....or 1200 , is it bad?

You do not need to "upgrade" the oil coolers.

A downpipe will probably make the car unsafe because of boost creep (search "boost creep"). You should definitely get a downpipe but replace the midpipe with a hi-flow cat.

AROSPEED = junk. Generic springs, etc.

I got the N-tech downpipe, but frankly any 3 inch that you know fits should do.

Your pre-cat is probably the kind that does not have a catalytic element in it. That's the big reason for removing the stock pre-cat, and why it's not a big deal in your case.

While you will improve flow by putting in a downpipe, you are very possibly going to have a much more risky problem on your hands - boost creep. I encourage you to wait until you've ported your wastegate until you go full exhaust from block to muffler.

the stock cat is out, and behind that is a 3inch full exaust !
so the only bad thing is the pre-cat ...isnt the wastegate good? should i change this too???

plus i didnt get an answer if i need to upgrade the two oil coolers and why...(are the stokc small or what?)

Non R1/R2 models have 1 oil cooler. R1/R2 models have 2 oil coolers. I'm not sure which model you have, as you are in Greece and may have imported a non-US model.

Most people w/ 2 oil coolers, don't "need" to upgrade. Just a matter of whether you want to do so. But if you do, there are a few options...but I wouldn't upgrade w/ an AROSPEED version...

this is a 1995 model....it has two oil cooler one at each side of down the front lights....
so i wont do anything to them....for a begining i ll get an aluminium radiator and silicone hoes , a big front mount intercooler and a 3" downpipe .
the car already has an exaust system plus some K&N air filters and a boost gauge...
I ll add with these a power fc + commander to be safe.....

xaxa .... u r right! imagine that i bought the ONLY fd that was beeing sold in the whole country! there are no more than 20-25 fd in the country.....so imagine what this means! i can get nothing for them...and there are only one or two engineers and they ask so so so much money for everything!
u need so much money to do the reliability mods...thats why i am looking to get some things from usa....shpiing doubles the prices BUT even though its cheaper than greece!!

FYI -- I don't know if you have an auto tranny or not, but...

FDs with automatic transmissions have only one engine oil cooler (on the left) and a tranny cooler on the right. This is frequently mistaken for being dual engine oil coolers.

you better hope there is a Better ECU in your car supporting those mods.. your motor will blow if you dont have something stopping the boost creep... if you put a downpipe on youll get huge boost creep and blow the motor.. which is why it is recommended to get a Power FC before you do any major mods that change the way the car will run.. only bolts on like a catback intake etc simple things are save on a stock ecu. but its still recommended to get a boost controler.
