turbo's blown? please help!

hey guys, earlier tonight i was driving my fd and decided to show off to a friend who was riding with me so i floored it from the top of 2nd gear to the top of 3rd gear. after that pull i could not get any boost at all from either turbo and when i tried to, it would make the sound of a supercharger winding up. i only recently started running 14-15psi on them (like 2 weeks ago) do you think the turbo's are done or could it be something else? the car has 110,000miles on it and i dont think the turbos have ever been rebuilt.
thanks,
Craig

Are you sure all your vac hoses are on tight, crossover tube, etc?

A while back, I was doing some work on my car and forgot to clamp down the ABV hose. A few miles later, my car blew off the hose, leaving me with 0 boost and making a constant "whooshing" noise.
I doubt your turbos are blown, especially if they were running fine before.

What kind of mods do you have?

Instead of going out there and trying to keep beating on it, I would start going through everything under the hood looking for boost leaks. Start with the y-pipe and move to the throttle body. Make sure you actually remove the couplers to see if they are split. A tricky little bugger is the BOV hose at the y-pipe. It can look like it's on and still leak boost.

i havent drivin the car since its done this, only reved it. i have the efini y pipe, and blitz fmic, i have checked all couplers and havent found a vacuum leak, besides if there was a leak somewhere what explains it boosting one minute then not the other

Sometimes things will work and then under repeated boosting or after they get hot, start leaking. I had this happen to me with the BOV hose at the y-pipe (which is why I mentioned it earlier). It looked like it was solidly on and boosted fine at first but would then start leaking once the car got hot.

If you are blowing a lot of smoke now, it's entirely possible that the turbos are blown, especially with that kind of mileage on them. My 85k turbos were completely toasted (although still boosted).

hate to tell you this man, just went through a similar situation... in terms of the smoke. if you have lots of bluish smoke then it sounds like the turbos, especially with the miles on those things. good luck, i suggest the new stage 3's from bnr for a rebuild, good reliable power.

Interesting, I've never been able to build (or get) boost just reving the motor. How did you accomplish this ???

Just floor the gas pedal to about 6000rpm and you should see at least 4psi of boost.
