Question Turbo questions

I have a 94 RX7 mods in sig.

we noticed that my "turbo door is wired open" I am not sure why. I thought the door was wired open or removed for non seq. but I am still seq. Will this hurt performance/motor/turbos?

Do I need to remove the wire mod?

Also noticed that I have none or just a few lbs on boost in first gear. Other gears boost 11-8-11.

What do I need to check or test to make sure door operates properly?

There are four possible "doors" that can be wired open, one on the manifold, two on the turbos themselves, and one on the y-pipe. You are going to need to be more specific. Obviously if you are still sequential then nothing should be "wired open". First gear is not a heavy boosting gear, it is normal not to reach full boost in first on stock twins..

It is strange that you have a somewhat normal boost pattern with the charge control actuator in the y-pipe wired open. Keeping that open would allow all the boost from the primary turbo to blow out the charge relief valve. Sounds like someone has done some cob-jobbing. Do you still have a CRV? or did someone try to eliminate it whan they installed the HKS BOV?

See diagram

Is the CRV vacuum line routed correctly or is it functioning as a second BOV? It is not a BOV, the CRV closes at 4500 rpm

Take the wire off and see what happens, it is not supposed to be there, the person that put it on is the only one that knows why they did.

The charge relief valve actually says "CRV" on it and the blowoff valve says "ABV" I believe

The BOV and the CRV are both in the correct locations. The purpose of the actuator door is to stay shut until 4500 rpm, when the second turbo comes on line. The purpose of the CRV is to vent the boost from the secondary turbo until the charge actuator opens. No you cannot just remove the CRV. This is why I find it interesting that you say you have a normal boost pattern, considering that all your primary boost should be venting via the CRV. This is why I asked if the vacuum line to the CRV was routed correctly and posted the diagram for you.

i cant tell if it see routed correctly does appear to have been altered but not much room to follow hose.

so I was searching....this is what I got... the crv vents fumes to airbox until 2nd is to come online then it open the ypipe door...correct?

does anyone have an actual engine bay pick that the hose route could be highlighted ?
