Transmission Noise!!!

OK so i have a 93 touring with a 99spec manual swap....whenever the clutch is not pressed there is this whining noise from pretty much where the gearbox is. i step on the cluth and the noise is gone and the car idles better. in 4th gear around 2-3000 rpm the noise is real bad, kinda like a blender with veggie sin it!

soo is it something serious...or shud i just replace the oil?? btw where exactly do u change or check the transmission fluid from??

check the factory service manual it shows u were to check from. its on the tranny, u have to get under the car.

i think it may be your throwout bearing making the whine. or input shaft

Well, an input shaft problem would most likely be a tranny rebuild or a new/used tranny replacement.

Here is a similar thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/trans-emitting-strange-noise-316274/

You might read through it as it has some ideas on areas you can check.

My input shaft went south, so I had to replace my tranny. Got a low mileage tranny and no problem. Its a pain.....

I'm thinking your clutch is dragging or you have a really bad input shaft bearing.

Find a good transmission shop and have them take a look - fortunately the tranny is not at all specific to rotary technology.

Did this happen suddenly?
or
Has it been gradually?
Throwout bearing could be dry....
