Thanks Rick.

BTW guys, Since my interest regarding front subframe fabrication is increasing I've started a bump steer discussion in the suspension tech section which I think may be of some informational interest to some of you. I'm really becoming interested in understanding why the Supra 7 has such bump steer issues. If you look at the pics that I posted in the thread you'll see that the rack placement isn't really all that radical. I would almost argue that the Hinson kit moves the rack more than SP's Supra 7 subframe.

Interesting stuff.

Latest acquisition: Purchased a Tri-Point sway bar. I'm working with David at Widefoot racing to make this thing clear the tie-rods with my Widefoot mounts. I currently have the cast mounts but may switch to billet.

PROGRESS REPORT = none. I'm currently in Budapest in the middle of my Spring holiday Euro-trip, I have a heap of parts awaiting my return. :o) Will post pics of emblems when I get back. On that note I look forward to a volunteer ride in a 7 on the Autobahn :-) May even make it into your neck of the woods.

I decided that I'm going to anodize my rad black. if that counts as progress. lol

Zach and I got our new Canadian Subframes back from the powdercoater; 3 coates of shiney black. ;o) Too bad is has to go under the car. lol

Anyone ever paid a shop to reudercoat your car. I have the car sprayed TGM underneath, but I think I want to go with the brand spanking new factory look. Perhaps a dark silvery undercoating mixture would do the trick.

Pics of R06 emblem (just taped on temporarily). Note that the picture does not show the metallic flake effect of the slivery plastic which is present in person.

Rob, I assume the "R06" is a play on the names RX-7 and Z06... Don't you think it's a little ironic that the only letter you're keeping from the RX-7 name, the R, literally stands for rotary?

Looking good though

May I ask where you purchased the black silvery plastic thingy? I curretnly have a black metal covering the front of my car and this might be just the thing to make it look better:

My black plate is made out of rough metal that's very hard to keep clean. I also like the metallic flake look of your black plastic. This would complement my metallic flake UIM and other parts.

Very nice conversion work btw...

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Dave, The black panel is an aluminum part, available through Hinson, that I simply powdercoated Tiger Bangel Black. I plan on making a countoured CF or fiberglass cowel to cover more of the front bay and better complement the curvatious lined of the car.

You may think of using anodized polished aluminum for your panel as well.

Thanks. I think I'll have my panel powder coated to match the other parts in the engine bay.

Your engine conversion is one of the nicest and most tasteful ones I've seen.

One more question - do you know how much it cost you to have the rear metal flares made and welded to the car? I greatly favor this option over molding in fiberglass. It's something I've been considering.

TY, I don't have a specific price break-down for the flares but expect to shell out $3-5ish thousand dollars since you will have to repaint much of the car. I did a full inside/oustside/underneath color change as well so I was spent a bit more than that.

That's what I have had quoted for the work, including the paint job. Think I can sneak that by the wife after spending a small fortune on the 20B conversion? I think I'll be driving the car with the bolted on Pettit flares for awhile

I really like this car, tastefully done, no corners cut.
(I secretly wish it was still a rotary though)
