throttle Response
Hey guys...
I just put in my first new engine (Pineapple Racing). Its awesome, but if I lightly touch the throttle she just dies. I was thinking it might be a grounding issue, but what do I know right. There's a few other problems like smoking, trying to make her quit.
thanks, Matt

Check the TPS voltages (4 of them), and O2 voltage at idle. The TPS is in the manual and on a few sites.
The O2 from a low of.01 to about .2 with stock ports and airpump.
Then check all electrical and control hoses to insure all are hooked up correctly (that includes pulling the UIM).

other problems could be:
-fouled plugs or plugs in wrong place
should be 7s or 9s for trailings and 9s for leading
-plug wires are crossed
-leaking injector
A bad ground wouldn't harm you that much unless it is a main one. I'd try to reset the ecu also and then let the car idle for a few minutes after each time you do something and then try driving it again.
good luck

My guess for the stalling is some kind of vacuum leak.

Ummmm, why not call Rob and ask what he thinks? You did pay him for the motor after all. And he does know his stuff. I would think he would throw in a little consultation for free......

Oh yeah and a set of leaky BNR's / Downpipe also has a hole in the weld where it bolts to the turbo.
That's it for now. I'm going to give Brian a call on monday to see what I'm going to do. And now's a good time to send that DP back, the only shitty side to that is I got it coated.
