Change in FD prices lately
Is it just me, or have FD prices started climbing in the past year or two. I remeber looking at prices 1-2 years ago and 18k would have got a better deal then today.
Of course, deals vary, and there are always the unbelievable finds but in general I think they are getting more expensive.
What would cause this? Am I just imagining this since I can actually afford one now?

Do it right, do it once

I just picked up a copy of the new SCC just for the 3rd gen article. Man those guys are idiots. $13K for an "excellent condition" '93? No way, try more like $17-18K for the top prices on a 93. I'd say a perfect '95 could go for more like $22K.
Sleep R1 is right, hard to find a really nice FD, harder yet to find a modded one that isn't a POS.

If you are looking at a heavily modified 7 you are looking at alot of money whether you build or buy. I bought my car for 12K 4 years ago. I have since put about 35-40K into the car. I now have a single turbo, fully modified 400+ monster that is completely reliable. When you get the power straight you need to fix the wheels, suspension, interior and exterior. Bottom line is if you want nice, fast, and Beautiful it will cost mad chickens.

The increasing prices of FD's may be good, or BAD; depending on your point of view. For those of us who are lucky enough to own one, enjoy it while it last! Unfortunately, there will likely come a day, and perhaps sooner than we all think, when FD's will be too valuable to drive. Seeing one on the street now isn't a common sight, and thats a shame!
This car is truly amazing in every way and has rightly earned itself a reputation that is the stuff of legends. And, as with all legends, they eventually become rather expensive to own. You only have to look at the mid-year corvettes, cobras, BOSS 302's and other muscle carsof that era to see what's coming next.
In 1970 my 389CID, 4-speed, Tri-power, 360HP dual exhaust, used 66GTO cost me just $700.00! OK! So I drove the **** outa it. But, I enjoyed every minute and likely increased the price of someone else's in the process. Try to buy one today.
Same thing will happen to the REX.... Performance and Speed, like SEX, SELLS $$$$$$$!

I've also noticed the price increases in our FD's but my many heart attacks have been buying parts! I had purchased an outside door handle not too long ago and it was $260.00!
Oh well we all know that old saying, "If you can afford to own it....you can afford to maintain it..."

Well, I'll telll you one thing! Supply and demand is right on the nose, the supply is now GONE! That's right ladies and gent's, no more RX-7's. They've been out of american market since '95 but now they don't even produce them since Feb. of last year they stopped production with the last model being the SpiritR. So now they are extremely rare in this sense, and if you fix the car up and restore it, it's worth every penny! One good thing about this is that they still make parts and such for our cars, so it's pretty much all good things for the people that own these cars like us. I would have to say that this is the best time to own one of these cars. The demand is pretty high right now, and I can only see the demand going higher. Rotary will never die, only progress and the number of rotary specialists will grow I think because of the RX-8 coming out. It just keeps getting better and better for us!
BTW: I got my '93 Montego blue touring for $9800 with a rebuilt engine with 0 miles on it perfect interior and body, everything worked, new injectors, and fuel components and service done to it. Turbos worked for about 1500 miles and then gave up on me, so it needs new turbos and it doesn't need a new paint job but I want one.

But if an RX7 even a feature car in F&F2
In the first movie, an RX7 was featured, but in this next movie, i believe the R34 Skyline, Supra, and S2000 are featured.
