Exclamation Throttle body settings

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone has the settings for all the set screws on the throttle body that effect idle? I guess as they came from the factory. Trying to do some troubleshooting they ended up all over the place so if someone happens to have specs on how far open or closed all of the screws are meant to be that would be great! That way I can get it back to as it was then try and adjust from there.

Should have taken better note of how things were before I started dicking around....

If it matters I have a PFC (IAC disconnected), exhaust, midpipe, intake. Stock motor and turbos. im just having some issues with it idling at a consistent RPM since the PFC was installed.

I thought there was only 1 idle screw?

Have you checked Dale's PFC FAQ document?

1/2 turn out on the bypass air is recommended. Double check your TPS values, if you accidentally changed any TB settings it could likely put the TPS out of spec. Also, why disconnect the IAC with a stock setup? Its there to make the car idle better. What ranges is it idling at now and has the PFC been tuned at all?

I was wondering the same thing. Typically I have to adjust the bypass air screw once at the beginning of summer and once at the beginning of winter every year or the car gets grumpy at the air temperature/humidity/whatever changes and it idles differently.

Thanks for all the replies!

It idles most happily around 1000rpm or so, much lower it kindof feels boggy and sometimes dies.

I disconnected the IAC because it was idling at like 2200rpm with it connected, and when I asked on the forum someone had said that the IAC and the PFC dont play nice so to just disconnect it.... maybe ill hook it back up. Its on a stock tune currently. It will be going in for a tune shortly once I have done some maintenance items.

Ill check the TPS as well. I know its out just a touch so that may be part of my issue.

I was mainly asking about the air adjust screw under the intake elbow and the screw on the TB that cracks the plates open at idle.

Before you mess with the TPS settings, check if the connection is dirty. Might save you a headache

Thanks guys!

TPS VTA1 and VTA2 are in spec all the way through the range.

I've just decided that because the history of the car is fairly unknown to me I am just going to run a major service on it, I am now thinking the problem has something to do with air sneaking in. Im planning to do the following:

- Swap in my rich man converted non sequential turbos
- Eliminate double throttle
- Replace all remaining vacuum hoses
- UIM Gasket
- LIM Gasket
- Throttle body gasket
- Throttle body o-ring
- Injector o-rings and grommets
- Send the injectors for cleaning
- Water pump gasket
- Plugs, plug wires, fuel filter

Im fairly confident that these will help quite a bit, if not I think these issues have something to do with tuning, so these updates will provide a good base for some dyno time.

If there is anything else I should do while im in there let me know!

Thanks!

the factory throttle settings don't work well with the PFC.

Ya I'm sort of coming to realize that. Once I have my little tune up done I will set it up as per chucks tuning notes, then get my DL and start tuning to make her run happy.
