Thoughts for creating more head room....

Well, I plan to reskin my seats in the near future, I will have the upholstery shop shave some foam out to give me a little more room without making the new skins fit like crap (if it's even possible).

Another thought I had, the R1's obviously have more head room than the touring models, and seeing how I never open the sunroof, could a guy remove the headliner and map light and replace it with that out of an R1 model and it fit, or is this going to cause issues with the window motor (which I am assuming it will).

Any other thoughts on getting maybe an inch or two more? I mean, I'm not totally uncomfortable, but another inch or two would be nice as I am 6'3''. I thought about getting a little smaller steering wheel to for more leg room as well.

You've probably done so already, but tilting the seat back obviously would be another way. I'm 5'11 and i come really close to hitting the roof in the touring model.

I think the steering wheel would work, but what about an airbag?

Best way is to just get a racing seat. Do some searching and you can find the ones out there that are lower than stock by quite a bit.

There are some members that have installed shorter rails. This can be really helpful, and not require you to lean back further than you would like.

The search button is your friend

Well, I like sitting pretty straight up and down. I'll search out the shorter rails.

Oh, I don't sit straight up and down, but I don't lean back much. I just can't stand to ride mexican style and look through the steering wheel while I drive

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't worry about it then. I just feel like I have to lean so far back that I look like a goof driver around. Must just be me then

Leaning the seat back is fine unless you are tracking or autocrossing. You need the wheel much closer for good control. A rule of thumb is that when you extend your arms over the wheel it should be under your wrists. Race drivers sit much closer than this...
