so let me get this straight. you guys are saying during hard deceleration the engine isn't getting any fuel, so it's effectivly not running? don't know why, but i find that hard to believe.

geh, have you ever push started a car? ever noticed that you have to have the throttle mashed on an EFI car? ever wonder why it starts when you do that? if you dont have the throttle mashed the car will bog and MIGHT start when it hits the rpm designated to turning fuel injection back on. it starts because all the factors are there for it to run. . . now, apply this to a car rolling down the highway. hmmmm. . . lets think about this. the car is rolling. . . keeping it in gear isnt going to cause sudden stoppage of the vehicle. . . so, while its rolling and in gear, the engine is turning. . . hence the LACK of any need for fuel to be injected.

i cant remember if you need datalogit or not. . . and havent messed with it in a while, but ill take a look at it later today and come back with a more definate answer. sorry for the hold out on that. . .

I think stock ecu stops fuel injecting until around 1500 rpm on decel.
it's pretty basic engine simply doesn't need fuel when decel.
there are some advantages on this
1.save fuel.
2.harder engine breaking.

these are the one I remember..

this was one of many advantage of injection over carb.when first came out..
