Those with Widebands.

When installing your WB sensor, do you use the stock bung on your down-pipe and clamp off your stock oxygen sensor with O2 simulators? Or just weld another bung on for the wideband?

Well if you have a power fc then you can turn off the stock o2 sensor and put a wide band sensor in. Or you can just weld another bung in the down pipe. I am just welding in another bung.

It'd be better just to weld another bung farther down the exhaust. If you have a midpipe, then just weld a bung on it making sure to keep the sensor in the 10-2 position to keep water from sitting in the sensor. If not then just weld it at the end of the downpipe. The stock bung will work but will significantly kill the lifespan of the sensor due to the heat.

most people are welding in bungs further down the pipe to extend the life span of the sensor, placing them infront of the flange on the end of the D/P... but the further away the sensor the longer the delay is on the reading. the pro typically out weighs the con since the delay is minimal

Innovative's LC-1 manual specifically states NOT to place the Lambda sensor in the stock O2 bung.

As everybody else has said this is due to the extreme heat that close to the turbo's.

Your best bet is to just weld another bung in, I would mark the location BEFORE pulling off your downpipe though, if you put the bung in there a little to "perfectly" you might end up sitting it too upright, missing the groove in the body to fit the sensor into (I did that the first time, felt like an asshat since I only had one bung with the kit.. had to wait for another to get shipped over from the states)

I welded my bung in just past the lower bend in the downpipe. There was plenty of room there to install it at 2 o clock without removing the downpipe. I also fitted a 4" copper heatsink just to aid cooling. 18 months in and perfect operation.

Mine is welded to the input pipe of my Bonez CAT, just after the downpipe. It's on the top side of the pipe close to the 12:00 position (11:00 or 1:00 depending on which way you look at it).
