R1 Seats or Leather Seats?

I have the opportunity to trade my pair of mint black R1 seats with unknown miles for a pair of mint black leather seats with only 14k miles on them. To be honest I don't have a clue which ones I like more, they both feel really good and this is hard desision. Were going to trade drivers seats for a week and do a lil test but for the mean time i wanted some feedback.

From everyones experience which one is :

lighter ?
more wear resistant ?
easier to clean ?
rarer ?
more comfortable in different climates (hot/cold) ?
better for racing around (with harnesses) ?

Keep the R1 seats.

Black leather seats, the CONS:

Hot as hell in the summer because of the combination of leather + black
They can crack
You will slide
Doesnt make the car look "race" like.

Hands down: Keep the R1 seats. They will wear much, much better.

I have black leather seats in my car. They look good, but it took a lot of work and care. The leather in the FD is very thin and cheap. It doesn't compare well to the leather in most other cars. You'll see a lot of FD's with badly cracked and worn leather on the side bolster by the driver's side door. In many cases the leather has completely worn through in spots.

On the other hand, the standard cloth seats or the R1 seats can go the life of the car still looking pretty good.

BTW, you can clean the fabric seats with one of the spray on foam cleaners. Armor All Upholstery Cleaner is a good one.

r1 seats do not wear well. and leather is easier to maintain IMO. i've used both in my fd.

He's not alone. I prefer tan over the black interior.

sounds like [people have nothing but good things to say about the r1 seats. I'm still going to swap the leather ones for a couple days then probably go back.
