Unhappy There goes the turbos.....

Well, After having a good feeling of accomplishment of getting the downpipe on my car I drove it around for about a week. The other day my car was running great, and then after a couple hours it started running like crap! My turbos started making this hair raising scraping noise and it would almost feel like it was losing power and no boost getting through. Everytime I tried to boost it would do this. They WERE leaking oil when we put the dp on and the guy at the shop told me earlier that the turbos were bad, and I think the bearings fried or maybe my oil lines were leaking so the bearings got no oil to them. Anyways, it doesn't matter now because they are pretty much gone and they are not coming back. I'm driving it around right now not boosting at all, will this hurt the car at all? And also, I have about $2000 to spend on the turbos, what should I get and where should I get them for a good price of course, I want the cheapest but good quality. You think they can be rebuilt? Please advise as to what you think I should do. Thanks.

I don't think driving it is necessarily a good idea. I hate to think that the turbo hits the housing breaks off and manages to get into your engine causing more damage..

I'm no expert though..

As far as new turbo's I've heard that bnr supercars and M2 both have good priced products that are an upgrade as well. BNR's are somewhere around $1600 per 2

ok thanks. I was thinking about doing that. I have to upgrade my ECU too then huh? O well, at least that will get pushed out of the way for now too, hit two birds with one stone in a sense huh? What type of ECU do you suggest? Since I just have a dp, and then I would have a k&N filter charger and then the stage 2 turbos. Should I get the M2 stock ECU tuning? Just checking what the best thing to do is but still kinda cheap. Thanks again.

If you are planning on continually modding your car, i would suggest something that is tunable, like a Haltec of Apex'i PFC. The M2 one i know is just a reprogramming of the factory one, so it isn't tunable except for sending it back to them to get re-tuned every time you add another mod. If you are done modding, then i think the M2 one would suit you nicely

well, I'm not done modding after that, but the thing is that I'll be done modding it for now. It will be a while till I buy and install another mod. So, I guess I'll just get the M2 one because it's the cheapest I can get and it's just for BNR stage 2 turbos and a downpipe along with a drop in K&N filter charger. That's it for now, so you think the M2 will do for now until I get enough money for a PFC. Thanks for the advice.
