tuning an electromotive tec III...mods..pls don't move

please do not move, due to the lack of viewing in the ecu area of the forum....

i am going to purchase a tec III from sr motorsports, soon. they are almost done fabricating a harness for the unit, and i am looking forward to this unit.

it appears that i will need someone ot help me tune it though. i feel that i could do it with the help of one of my good friends, but am slightly weary of letting him help 'tune it' due to the fact that he doesnt really 'know' rotaries. ive got the lap top, so that is not an issue. i simply need someone to help me tune the damn thing. i live in jackson mississippi.....i was on line to get their pfc, but backed out due to the tec III unit and its ability to further control my car. also, it comes with its own coils....something that would have to be added to a haltec or pfc. i know that i am going to be out on a limb with this purchase, but want it done right, and with out tearing up another motor or turbos.....

help or advice is greatly welcomed...

Sorry Rxplicit, I dont' know anyone that can help you tune it, but since your buying it from SRmotorsports, don't they help with the tuning? If you can't get anyone to help you with the tuning why are you buying it? I know the Haltech has a huge support list online, and the Power FC has a big following as well. Maybe you could contact Shiv Pathak with the project rx7, I know he is familiar with the Tec2 setup, and probably the 3. Just a thought.

thanks, i am thinking about all three really, but like the tec III b/c og the diverse options, tuning ABILITY, and the unit comes with the ignition coils. sr is almost ready with the wiring harness....it replaces the oem one. as far as the tuning is concerned, they (sr) can help, but i was really looking for someone within a few hours drive of me......

The tec3 looks like an excellent set up. I personally have a Power FC, but thats just because it fits my needs, and XS is 45 minutes away to do a dyno tune. If your interested in the Haltech, talk to Gorden Monsen and the other guys in the Haltech forum, from what I hear they can help you with almost anything and that setup is very nice for the money as well. Good luck with the project and make sure you post what you end up doing.
