One of my sway bar mounts gave up the ghost and I’m looking into an aftermarket replacement. My car is lowered so I was looking to get shorter mounts. I’m between these right now.
Any thoughts on these? I assume they’re all “knock offs” of older ones that are discontinued.
If anyone has any others that are still available and are good I’d look at those too. I’m planning to pair the mount with the stock sway bar and adjustable end links. I will likely upgrade the sway bar later.
I was informed by vivid racing that the feed sway bar mounts have been redesigned by feed. Thus they needed to charge me an additional $170 and it would take 2-3 months for them to be made. So I canceled the order and bought the Supernows. In purple, of course.
I’ve been using a RB Sway-bar brace with stock mounts and a Tripoint adjustable swaybar for years. And that includes a lot of autocross on HPS street tires. If you decide to go back with stock mounts it should be plenty for the street. Front Sway Bar Mount Brace Kit for 93-95 RX-7 - Racing Beat

I second updated stock mounts with the RB brace. Mazda updated the mounts at some point to have a wider contact area and perhaps better construction/materials.
The RB brace solves the other main problem with any mount out there, which is the lateral force transmitted to the body through the mounts. You can fatigue and crack the sheet metal around the mount points even on a street car if that is allowed to go on too long without a brace.
Supernow mounts when orange was the only color you could get
The Supernow mounts are lower than stock and couldn't use the Supernow lower clamps because the sway bar is larger than stock
Yeah I wanted something that was lower than stock so I wouldn't stress the endlinks much. I got the improved racing ones. I'm staying with the stock sway bar for now but I'll probably upgrade it later. What's the blue goop?
So I ordered the supernow from RHDJapan and they did the same thing. Increased the price of the mounts after I ordered it. Not sure if they changed it at all or just raised the price, but they come to the same price as the feeds. Waiting for them to contact me back so I can find out if it's gonna be the same 2-3 month wait and if the design changed at all but they don't seem to have the best customer service. Considering just going for the AWR with a racing beat brace now, but I wanted the shorter mounts to reduce strain on the endlinks. Worst case I guess I sink 500 on the sakebomb widefoots. Would still like to hear from anyone who's used the KTS stabi race bar or the original RE amemiya.
Why do you need shorter mounts? If it's a clearance issue, look to see if anything is lower. That will hit first if you raise the sway bar.
I believe it's because the stock mounts were made for the geometry at stock ride height. When you lower the car but don't account for that difference in the sway bar mounts then it can/will throw that geometry off slightly.
Obviously the VAST majority of the community falls into the category of "lowered but not compensated" and it isn't the end of the world. However, if you're going to be replacing them anyway, why not make the extra effort to do it as correctly as possible?
My mount was actually bent slightly, I replaced them with the Sakebomb kit last year. The shop doing my work is INCREDIBLY critical when it comes to quality, most products from aftermarket shops leave much to be desired in their eyes. Surprisingly, they had nothing but compliments for the SBG mounts.
The reason the stock mounts are so low is to bottom out before anything else on the car.
The reason they are so crush-prone is to bend before damaging the frame.
I'd think twice before switching them out on a street car.
This thread shows the stress it puts on your endlinks when you lower the car without shortening the mounts, since I have to replace mine anyways, I might as well replace it with something that will fit better. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...-guys-1130923/

I agree with you but I'd rather just be less likely to bottom out by just not having it close to the ground.
