surging when fd is hot

Has anyone had a problem with the fd surging on hot restarts? it sucks that everytime i drive the car for about an hour and the shut off the car, then restart within 5 mins, the car surges for about 1/2 a minute. anyone have a suggestion. already new radiator, thermostat, cleaned idle air control, still didn't help.

are you starting the car in gear or N?

it could be your accelerated warm up kicking in..

it should rev hight for 30seconds whever you start the car in N and the motor is cold(doesn't explain why it surges when you let it sit for 1hr unless it completely cools off)

but you mention its happening during hot start up...

I think the air temp correction maps on the PFC need to be messed with, but I think you'll need a Datalogit to do that. My PFC will surge if air temps are over 68 deg. C or so, surges worse the hotter it gets.

Mine does the same thing with my PFC. In stop and go in the summer, intake temps sometimes top 80 degrees, and it will surge like crazy.

When you say surge, are you talking about idle hunting? When my car is warm, and after boosting, my car will "surge" or "idle hunt." Idle runs from normal to about 3000 rpm, up, down, up, down, like I reving the engine to race. There are a lot of post here on the forum about this problem, but no single common cause. It has been recommended to me to remove my idle speed control and just tune using the PFC. Before I installed my PFC, I had the 3000 RPM hesitation problem. My mods are PFC, 3" DP, high flow cat and Racing Beat dual tip exhaust.

well what happens is when i restart the car when it's hot or after hard driving, the idle kicks up to about 4k rpm then will start to buckle up and down between 3k-1k rpm for bout 30sec. then everything is back to normal. yeah i got pfc,hks dp, magna flow mid, and axpexi n1 exhaust. let me try re-tuning my pfc. i'll keep y'all posted. thanks
