I'm sure your 622rwhp Z would smoke my nearly stock FD in a straight line... what's your point? Most of the local Camaro drag racers would probably smoke me too. I'm sure you have a lot more money and mods in your car than I do; that proves nothing. It still doesn't get past the fact that the FD is a much better platform for a sports / race car. Anyone with any kind of common sense knows that less weight is better, and with 700 to 800 extra pounds, the Z has quite a disadvantage.
And I know that BPU stands for 'basic performance upgrade', I'm not an idiot. What I don't know is what is considered BPU on a Z or on an FD. As far as I know, BPU has only been relatively well defined for the Supra crowd.
Oh, and I don't feel like driving the 2K+ miles from Mississippi to Cali this weekend to race you, so you'll have to count me out.

Uhhh. Actually I have raced many FDs on the street and never lost a race even when I had lightly modified car. And yeah....how can I have a concept of what fast is when my daily driver makes 622rwhp? ROFL.
Either put up or shut up. Carlsbad this weekend!

Its funny, the only catagory that the 300ZX and RX-7 are roughly equivelant in stock form are straight line acceleration. In terms of anything else (braking, lateral
Grip, slalum, auto-X, road racing, etc) the FD will RAPE a -Z-.
your screen name should be TTFP (Twin-Turbo Fat-Pig).
