I think 0-400 is 0 to 400 meters! and 11.50."

Now if it was 400km doing 11.50 seconds.....DAMN...fucken fast! So my point is it's 400meters.

And yeah the guys are correct he will fry even a modified auto box at over 450bhp
Oh my god!

How can anyone be so badly misinformed?

I have driven HKS 2530 Z, it does NOT lag like you explained. Also its IMPOSSIBLE to break loose in 4th gear unless you're driving on ice(Duh).

And he will NOT fry a modified auto tranny at only that power level. Check sgpracing.com....Kyle's Z32 was running 10.4@140mph with level10 tranny. I have seen even better built auto trannys than level10 making 10.5@135mph(specialtyz.com).

Both of the above cars running nitrous. The specialtyZ car runs nitrous all the way down the track on a bone stock motor.

Seems like the guy who started this thread has either already lost to that Z or already blew up his motor. Heh. No wonder there are no replies from him.

Well if the race didn't happen, I'm willing to step up and defend the Z against ignorace. I hope someone has the ***** here to stand by the words spoken about this race. Anyone? I'm in socal by the way.

Racing modded cars basically comes down to a pissing contest and not so much about which car is acutally better than the other...Stock for stock the FD wins...Obviously he's spent a chunk of cash on his Z just to back up his mouth...Honestly I don't think you being lighter is enough to help. convert to a t-78 run 20psi and smoke him like a cheap cigarette.

ROFL. I saw a bunch of FDs at fontana a couple of events ago. I think they were all from this forum. All the Z32s were running low 11s to mid 12s. Guess what the fastest RX7 ran that day?

lol..the cars at fontana are all lightly modified. my seven will keep up with a string of z's and there are few sevens around here who will destroy all of them.

but thats all bullshit anyhow...Im just bored and thought Id clutter this thread with more trash.

enjoy your heavy tank z. it was a great car til the seven came out. talk about a spanking.

Right!!! Some of my friends are in 11s with BPU Zs(lightly modified like those RX7s). Sorry to burst your bubble but FD guys seem to be hung up on this weight thing, like this automacially makes your car faster no matter what. ROFL. I've passed RX7s while spinning tires, must be embarrassing .

Sorry I've yet to see a fast FD on the street. I like them since they are such cute little girly cars. But please, look at the heap of misinformation in this thread!

why are people talking about this still, lol. I was like "wtf, this is an old thread, i wonder what happend" -ff to the last page and people are still arm chair racing (no offence, I do it to).

It's been said, "moded vs moded is a pissing contest". Who ever has more $$ wins, always, because money is always the deciding factor in the straight line, unless you're nitromethayne motor pops that is. So I believe.

So the answer is -who cares who's moded car is better. Set up some cones in a parking lot and see who can turn their cage faster. I know, I know, I'm a corner carver wanabe, lol.

This is really retarted. if the rx7 has STOCK turbo's and the Z has 600 rwhp, it doesn't take a moron to figure out the -Z- is going to win. Stock VS stock both cars are *CLOSE* in 1/4. To my knowledge 13.7 @ 102 is the *BEST* published 1/4 mile time (done by a mag) for both cars.

When it comes down to it, MOD VS MOD the -7- wins, Handling the -7- wins, Looks are subjective, but the 7 obviously looks better (I like the Z too). Braking? the -7- wins, Ulitmate potential? the -7- wins.

The -Z- is a nice comfee car that you can lend your Grandmother to take to sunday church, not a brutal no compromize razor sharp sportscar that turns heads on every corner.

So there it is, close the damn thread now.

Actually no . Mod for mod 7 does NOT win. Look at z32racing.com for BPU Zs running 11s. There are many BPU Zs making over 400rwhp on stock turbos/fuel system etc.

Ultimate potential? ROFL. I have a STOCK motor that dynoed 622rwhp. You guys need to educate yourselves .

actually, YES mod 4 mod the -7- wins. I don't know of any unibody Z's running low 8's or any tubed z's running 6's.

your 400 RWHP bpu car sounds impressive till you realize it weighs so damn much. Our BPU (if you want to use that retarted supra term) cars have 360-400 rwhp (yes some have approached 400 with stock twins) and weigh less.

Imhappy for you and your 622 rwhp, the 7 weighs 800 lbs less, there are guys on our forum that have 600 rwhp too, whats your point?

Put a full exhaust on an rx7 and full exhaust on a Z and see who wins...The 7 will smoke it.

Later

Either no concept of what 'fast' means, or you've never seen an FD on the street.

Also, I (and I'm probably not alone here), have no idea what you mean by BPU when you're referring to a Z. Actually, I have no idea what BPU means when referring to a 7. You need to clarify yourself here.

I guess if straight line performance and a heavy-*** car is your thing, then yeah, the Z is the better car.

As far as which one is the better ultimate performer, there is no question that the 7 is a much better platform.

BPU means basic perfomance upgrades. How come there's not even ONE person here who would stand by the claims here? I'm going to Carlsbad this Saturday. I invite someone from here to come show me what a fast street RX7 can do.

I bet NO-ONE will even answer let alone show up at Carlsbad. Sorry opinions are like *** holes, everyone has one. But facts are here to stay .

BTW my Z weighed 3420lbs with a rollbar. Your common RX7 weighs what 2800lbs? Even if that was 800lbs difference by some cosmic math, do you know what happens to power-weight ratio as the speed builds? :-).

How come all of you guys want to only talk and not race?

Mmmm. OK you got it. We will have at least one Z with straight pipes at Carlsbad this weekend. Who wants to come show us that 7s are fast? Anyone?

my rx7 weights 2710 with 1/4 tank of gas., after upgrading the exhaust, you lose alot of weight. A 300Z weighs 3500 lbs, so yours at 3420 sounds about right. 700-800 is the weight difference.

You have a fast Z, GREAT!!!!!! Your acting like a dickweed, implying that RX-7's cant be fast. With the potential of the 13B and more importantly the feather weight status, the RX7 has more potential than the Z, period.

You can talk about facts, but the fact is you need a HELL of alot more HP to make up for the 700-800 lbs weight difference.

and oh yea, I know what BPU means, I think its retarted and reserved for supra owners. FYI.

Good luck with your race, even if you win you will prove nothing.

I can't be any more clear. WHO HAS THE ***** TO SHOW UP?

Will anyone step up and preserve the FD community reputation? Or you guys want to stay at the bottom of the import scene?

Uhhh. Actually I have raced many FDs on the street and never lost a race even when I had lightly modified car. And yeah....how can I have a concept of what fast is when my daily driver makes 622rwhp? ROFL.

I hope Mr. Belvi Bans your ***. The Rx-7 is not on the "BOTTOM" of the import scene, its at the top. When the greatest cars imported to america from japan are discussed, its ALWAYS RX-7 VS Supra. The 300ZX and VR4 3000 GT are lucky to be afterthoughts. If you bought your 300ZX to be a drag car, you bought the wrong car, as japanese cars are not designed for drag racing..... Its funny, the only catagory that the 300ZX and RX-7 are roughly equivelant in stock form are straight line acceleration. In terms of anything else (braking, lateral
Grip, slalum, auto-X, road racing, etc) the FD will RAPE a -Z-.

your screen name should be TTFP (Twin-Turbo Fat-Pig).
