Starter + Battery Relocation Qustion

I was getting ready to install my JDM Tranmission and was removing the starter and was wandring if this looked right. Ive had some starting issues for awhile it appears that when the battery reolcation was done the threads that connect the wires from the bttery and going into the engine bay were stripped. see picture.. So im figuring from the loosw connectio could have been my problem.

Not sure why they ran the wire to there. Most relocations run to either the alternator or the stock battery positive connection point.

I disagree. The starter is a great point to run the wire. No need to run it all the way up front.

My relocation will plug into that as well.

It depends how you get there. If you run under the car, yes. From the cabin (through the driver wheelwell) it is just as easy to route along the existing secure route to the stock positive attachment point, and requires about the same amount of cable. I'm not a fan of running positive cable under the car.

Having run the cable under my car, I agree that I don't like it in that location. I prefer the routing location you used and will someday re-route my power cable in a manner similar to yours - but will still route to the starter. My custom Vmount and oil catch can interferes with where the OEM battery attachment would normally be.

Once you get it to the engine bay it is all personal preference. Some run it directly to the alternator connector. I don't think you could say any is wrong - and functionally there is no difference. Or we could argue it over a beer next week.
