There's a little history here. I questioned "Garfinkle" disassembling the stock BOVs to replace the springs in another thread. After getting an explanation from duboisr, I attempted to close the issue by stating that it was not something most people would do, hence my initial doubt. I got a smartass comment from duboisr in return, who apparently didn't feel the issue was closed and had apparently taken offense that I even questioned it. Fine, from that point on, anything is fair game.

The 15 hour figure is bullshit, and I'm sick and tired of reading posts by someone constantly talking about someone else in the third person. It's like YZF-R1 constantly quoting pages from the ICR web site to justify his religious opinions on evolution. It gets old after awhile.

Personally, I don't give a **** if anyone thinks I'm being an ******* about it. I am, I know it, and I really don't care...
AMEN BROTHER.....

Garfinkle and God
both start with the letter "G"
Coinsidence....I think not.

I Polished the UIM, LIM, Throttle Body, and The end Tanks on the IC, as well as the Efini Y Pipe...

What a PITA, all I can say if you make more than minimum wage, there are more lukerative things to spend your time on, and god knows Alluminium dust goes everywhere, mask or no mask, you'd need an envirnment suit to avoid it, and my fingers never blistered so bad...

I must admit I'm pretty proud, allthough I have to go back and do a bit more wet sanding and possibly some jewelers rouge.... but yes it's gratifying, but also very frustrating when you look back on the money you spent on tools, and time, you could have been working earning far mor money tan what you would have had to pay someone to do it for you .....

Looks good Fd3virgin, I've been pondering the venture of polishing my UIM, TB, and intake pipe also, just haven't heard much about it from others taking on the project. I've got any extra set of parts off my old motor, I figure I could work on them in my spare time and just swap them out with the ones on the car as I go.

Props either way man! It's always more gratifying doing projects yourself, despite the hard work.

a guy at work says he uses a compound called 'fabulustre' to polish aluminum manifolds. we use fabulustre at work on other metals and it's the best. i think to the general public it's like $6ish for a 1 lb. tube. check it out.

i think this was resurrected to ask if, after six years later, this is still the best laugh you have had on the forums.

I did smoothing on my UIM but I got impatient and coated it with clear red so you can see the sanding swirls through the paint. Polishing looks super cool everyone seems to do it though.
