So it's not 100% stock. Big deal, it's still an IRS car. I fail to see where I was "proven wrong". Are you sure you're not the one that was proven wrong?

You haven't done any research, that I can tell. You just bought an 8.8" axle out of a junkyard and proclaimed it the best thing since sliced bread. I researched each and every part of my 8.8" IRS and used the strongest and best parts, both factory and aftermarket, available. Is it the best solution for drag racing? No, but it'll still handle enough power to run a 9-second quarter, the same as yours. If you want to continue to believe that your 8.8" is the best tool for the job, that's fine. If I were going to the trouble of swapping a live axle into a purpose-built drag car, I certainly wouldn't have stopped at an 8.8".

Your credibility isn't the best around here, Eric. You might want to think about that before you start making up any more "facts" because someone may call you on it. Good luck on your project, regardless.
Oh yeah, where's that 7second IRS car at that you were refering to?

Go play with your old wrinkly ***** old man.

Thanks.

hmm..how well does the kaaz hold up on say a 475rwhp car on et streets?
I thought the kaaz was pretty tough. ??

You know Eric, you sure like to talk out your *** alot. If I were you, I would seriously think about your position here. Trash talk like that is bad PR for you and BI State Customs since you so diligently portray them in your sig. If I was your employer, I wouldn't stand for the **** rep you are creating for yourself and Bi State. Do yourself a favor and put a lid on it before this really gets ugly. I PMed you and told you I wouldn't bring up the past on the board anymore but maybe someone at 618-234-0069 doesn't know the whole story.

You sure are going to alot of trouble to put a crappy C clip 8.8 ford rearend in that 12.x second car, when plenty of other ppl are running into the tens or better on the IRS with a Kaaz setup. Then again if I were you , I'd need as much help as i could get too. Good luck igmofo.

Bad PR? BS. I started the thread for informational purposes only. You think I'm going to let Jimlab and his groupies hi-jack my thread without having a say about it? You think I'm going to put up with childish threats? Absolutely not! Just because I'm one of the very few who stands up to jimlab means I'm the bad gguy? I have nothing to hide. Don't you think if there was a problem that my thread and all advertising would have been deleted? The owner of the RX7CLUB is allowing me to advertise. If he didn't feel comfortable with us then we wouldn't be here now would we? If it would make you feel better to call and tell the person at 618-234-0069 the "Whole Story" then do so. Actually, you can call right now. We'll be waiting on you.

he will spend that easy once he HAS to buy 31 spline axles, a locking diff, c clip elim. and rebuild. that's not even including the custom work to mount a particularily difficult 4 link onto his frame perfectly. He has no idea what he's getting into.
Go ahead slap some slicks on it eric, guess what it will still snap until you upgrade it. that is if your even putting down the power you say. take a wild guess that's why ppl get a ford 9"

I'm tired of arguing about it. Go to any nmra race and pick your choice of 1,200HP/3,000 pound mustang. Watch it make a mid 8 second pass with only $349 axles, $125 c-clip eliminators, $135 ring and pinion, $160 spool and, $135 girdle. Housing is completely stock with only the tubes welded. We've already designed out lower radius bracket and are in the process of building our ladder bars which will cost less than $250 to manufacture............including rod ends. Pan hard mounts and brackets will cost less than $75.

What am I getting in to again?

holy crap....this went from a simple "look at my new project" thread to a stupid little kid fight. I swear everytime the name 'jimlab' is brought up, he's gotta hijack the thread and make it about himself. someone has a huge ego issue, seriously. man just lay off for once. Your car doesnt even run...so how can you brag on its performance? SHOW US how good your setup is, then preach the "Jimlab Way" to us. Im not dissing your car at all, I think its GOING to be awesome....but freak man, you act like you're better than everyone.

cant wait to see how you rip me apart...but i dont care, im on this forum to learn and help out where i can, not look cool and bring people down.

Resource, way to tackle the project without wasting any time. Its people like you that GET STUFF DONE and have the knowledge and experience afterwards to share with the community. Good luck and dont let this thread die just because of the childish statements.

lets see 1230$ looks pretty close to what i said doesn't it , particularly since you left out getting the rear end rebuild kit, maybe labor if you don't want to do it, and probably more also.
Thank you please drive through
oh and I bet handling will be shot with that ladder bar/SPOOLED combo - thats a fact jack!
what about shocks/springs- perches, ?coilovers$?
ya goodluck on your *better* solution. Atleast your accomplishing something no one else has done?

ow ya you left out the price of your JY 8.8 axle when you pulled it, ooooh are you gonna do the brakes at all.
what about a custom driveshaft now too.

all im saying is it sure as hell isn't the best thing since sliced bread. Seeing how you're atleast putting some money into it, it should hook if you set it up right and not break. Now if your engine were just as reliable.......

There is standing up and then there's being a little ignorant *****! Right now your being the little ***** so smarten up! Oh you were waiting on me eh? At ******* one in the morning my time? Nice try dumbass. And I wasn't refering to any problem the board might have with your shameless plugging of BI State, I was refering to what your employer would think about the negative feedback you are creating for his business by flipping people off. Keep ranting yourself into the ground. You did it once you're on your way to doing it again. Once a lying cheating rat bastard, always a lying cheating rat bastard!

Racerfoo, if you really are here to "learn and help out" as you put it, then I suggest you learn to stay out of things that don't concern you. Yes this is a public forum but your ******' two cent post certainly didn't help anybody now did it? Like it or not, your in this "little kid fight" as you put it. Now learn something and STFU! (I know you won't so bring it!)

Like I said there's debating one's side and then there's being disrespectful because you're too stupid to debate intelligently.
Go play with your old wrinkly ***** old man.
That is just being a disrespectful punk. So when you come in with the "Oh, name calling" , remember who drew first blood.

That's all fine and dandy, Eric...except for one small problem. YOU'RE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MAKING 1200 hp!!!

Just because a 8.8 rear can handle 1200hp and 8 second slips doesn't mean you need it in your car. Have you even broken into the 10's? 11's?

I never said I'm making anywhere close to 1200 hp. The subject was the strenth of the Ford 8.8....... I've never broken into the 11's or 10's but, we're getting it ready to.

Along with the pro-shifted tremec TKO.

Not sure. I've only got about 4 hours tied up in the whole thing. We've been extremely busy here so the only time we get to play is on our free time which, we have none

if jim thinks irs is just as good as a solid axle for drag then that's his opinion. but he shouldn't be portraying his examples as fact when he doesn't know the whole situation. last year, titan went through their 300m axles like water. once adam got into the 8's in his fd he spent $5 grand per weekend on axles. these were the best halfshafts available at the time too, heat treated 300m axles, not stock. jim shouldn't imply that there are all these single digit cars out there that run irs w/ no problems whatsoever, when he obviously doesn't know what goes on in the pits.
