spoiler installation.....

Hey guys.

Do all 3 of the OEM/JDM spoilers (original, whale tale, 99 spec) mount in the same spots or do they need different holes drilled ????

The aren't interchangeable. The R1 and 96-98 spoiler *might* line up on the inside mounts, but the R1 has 4 legs where the 96-98 has 2. The 99 is a whole different animal.

i understand that but the outsides dont line up together like this site says in the lighting in a world of thunder website(shows that both sides line up and you just have to fill to remaining holes the r1 spoiler left

i have searched..... didn't find any definitive answers.... that's why i'm asking.

I just lined up my oem spoiler and the 96 spec and they seem to have similar bolt patterns in the middle... but not on the outside ... just as was mentioned above.

I was hoping they could be swapped out randomly, but i guess that is not the case.

I just got a new 7 with no spoiler and I only want to cut the holes once.... so i'll shoot for something different and go with the 96 spec.

AFAIK, all three spoilers mount using mostly different holes. The 93-95 and the 96-98 spoilers dont mount completely perfect, but as said before, the middle fits ok, but the sides dont. Regarding the 99 spoiler, 6 of the 8 holes from the 93-95 spoiler line up with the 99 spec, but you do have to drill 2 new ones. I got that info from this site.
