Actually the FD with the TO4Z was detuned, not abused. DETUNED, read the article my friend. Most the cars were detuned. Kind of the same thing they did with 2FAST2FURIOUS. The Skyline in 2FAST2FURIOUS was orinally putting down 600+ HP, but they detuned it to 200 something for the drivers. And remember, only one of the mustangs had a skyline engine, and they did not use that in the movie, other than the screen shots, and the scenes, of the miracle engine swap. That is what they has in the article also.

That was an engine from a silvia but it was 24valve so being a straight 6 I guess it was a skyline engine. I don't know all thar much about JDM only cars.

Sorry I had to do that. Both the Falken FD's were used in the movie. The left hand drive one we built. Even the shots that have the RHD Falken FD, will have the sound from our car. The Universal sound guys LOVED the loud downpipe only FD I actually went up to their warehouse that they were building all the cars in to do a consult with their head production guy (John something...been awhile now) I looked over the rotaries that they had there, and I was kinda disappointed. The red/orange whatever color one that the Puerto Rican guy drove in the 2nd F&F movie was there. It was totally stock inside the engine bay! The car had been left outside at the Universal Studios in Orlando after the shooting of the movie and the displays or whatever, and hadn't been started for like 2-3 years! It sat through hurricanes and everything with no prep for storage or anything. Needless to say, the engine was a total loss. Rusted rotors, irons, bearings, gears...trashed. Then the guy got kinda huffy when I told him what it was going to cost to buy a new engine. He ended up going with a used JDM motor "because all it has to do is drive one of the actors into the shot. LOL Funny. They had like 4000000 350Z's that all looked the same, and a ton of the muscle cars all looking the same. They had just received the Veilside FD...which was amazing. So anyway, I got paid a bunch for my limited time with them advising them (sorta) and that's the end of that. I wouldn't wait until the absolute end of the movie to try to find my name in the credits, but I had a good time. BTW, they have DOPE food there!
i believe it was miami, so i think the spic was cuban...

"Over 100 cars were destroyed/wrecked during the filming of this movie." -imdb.com

Wouldn't surprise me if a couple FDs were destroyed. You see one of them get destroyed in the preview trailer, the orange and black car. At least I think that was an FD, the body kit is so horrible its hard to tell.

Why NOT? It's veilside, it's not like it's a classic or anything.

Funny enough....all of the sound bites that were associated with the Veilside FD were actually of the Falken FD. That was too weird to watch the entire movie, and see that car and hear mine...way too confusing LOL

dang...i did not know that hollywood is so cheap to use other people sound instead of using their own. 1 thing for sure that movie is going to get the muscle fans pissed especially after putting an RB26 on a mustang.

Did anyone else notice in the movie that in one sceen where Han and the red neck are talking, sitting in the veilside wide body FD, that it had 2 dash pods....one on each side?

The one thing they did get right was the exhaust note for the FD's (sounds like an open exhaust rotary should)...not the V-8 sounds clips they played for Vin Diesel's FD in the first one.

Tim

Yeah the dash pods stuck out... that was funny.

Also, every sound you heard from an FD was from the Falken Car.. they took all the soundbites off the falken car (which SpeedMachine did all the work on.)
