smoke after long idle *searched*

whats up guys.. just a few questions... my car gets the regular little puff of smoke on first startup then it clears up and idles with no smoke at all, when iam under boost i get no smoke at all, when i let off the gas i get no smoke at all.. the only time my cars smokes a blueish film is when it idles or sits for 5-10mins, after searching it seems like i need a turbo rebuild... but my t78 only has approx 3000miles on it would the oil seal go that quiclkly??? any other ideas or things i should check? also when i unscrew the oil filler cap it takes longer to start smoking.... overall the car runs great no decrease in power, no coolant leak or anything like that.. just when it sits or idles at a very long light(5mins) the car starts 2 smoke

A friend of mine had a similar problem. Check if the relief valve attached to the oil filler neck is clogged or shut closed. Remove it from the system to see if it is and get a new one. Hope this works.

Peace

But the symptoms you are describing are symptoms of a bad turbine side shaft seal on the turbo. It happens because when there is no boost, there is no exhaust pressure to help hold the oil behind the shaft seal.
