i didn't know until last night when i pulled the tranny. but it could've been worse. i'm just glad (and rather suprised) that nothing else got seriously damaged and that my flywheel is untouched. time to break out the JB Weld and patch up the hole while i wait for my new clutch. i'm gonna try and stop by this week to do your wiring. have you sent out the connector yet?

To tell you the truth we have never had a problem with them and we have installed many of them. Your case does look like its Specs fault and they should cover that.

I just went thru all this with spec over my Stage 3+ kit. They avoid in all ways possible to not cover it. Mine was over 1 year old but it sat as I was going thru a rebuild. I measured it and sent them the pics showing less than 100th/inch of wear on friction disk. They would only go as far as to let me send it back to see if it was rebuildable then charge me for the rebuild. I told them no I would not put there POS back in my car. Funny, I saw them (same guys that own/operate SPEC) at a drag event and I told them in front of many.... So when you guys going to replace my stage 3+ that had only 1500 miles on it and crapped out on the dyno?? Bla bla bla... I said nah its ok I already put on a ACT 6 puck and its holding great! Besides that unit is so freakin harsh it wore the crap out of my flywheel. I could not imagine getting more than 4-5k miles at that rate.

Mike, I would've paid money to see the exchange between you and the owner of Spec......the look on his face was probably priceless

Yeah, He was a bit uneasy... I dont want to hurt anyones business but they do not handle there claims very well. What sucked so bad is me being semi local to them and spending a good bit of time on the phone with the owner discussing my car his old FD and there new 240, I thought it would have been handled.....

Some pics from work sorry, a bit smalll....

^ friend of mine broke his Spec stage 3 after 9k miles or so. This was on a V6 Eclipse... hardly an uber-powerful car.

I wonder if it's just the stage 3 clutches. All the bad stuff I have heard is about those particular ones.
