Exclamation Spark plug wires arcing like a bastard!

Well, I think that I figured out why my car idles like crap, and failed emissions miserably. I replaced my O2 sensor friday night and I replaced a few vacuum lines. After I got finished, I started the car and the garage was dark. One of my spark plug wires was arcing about 1.5" to the intake! I ordered some taylor wires from summit, they will be here on Wednesday and I can hopefully pass emissions.

I hope you have an ecu!

Is it arcing from the wire itself, a boot, or the plug? It can arc if it's not on the plug good or it may be cut/no insulation.

It's arcing right from the boot on the coil pack side.

That may not be the cause, it could be the result.

Check the equivilent of the distributor. I beleive it's called the coils.

for the coils, rip off UIM, look at coil packs, and you will se ground wire bolted arounf plugs
