those look like BRxEIX plugs..... you'll need a 'special' socket that has had the outer circumference ground down to fit. Not sure where you can buy them currently, KG parts used to but I don't think he does any more.
One more reason to use the proper spark plugs IMO, I'm guessing the previous owner left you a nice surprise

You need one of these:

Some people make their own, I currently need one too.

Wow $77 for a spark plug socket?
Go pick up a cheap 13/16 for $4 and start grinding, then when you get those plugs out, buy the proper ones that are the correct size/length

speaking from experience, grinding down a socket is a big pain in the ***. The socket has to be very thin and it has to be ground down evenly to work. If you grind it too thin in one area the socket can split as you are trying to turn the plug, and then worst case scenario you can ruin the hex on the socket. just buy the socket and you'll never have to worry
It takes all of 20 minutes (max) to modify. Pretty simple, just keep spinning while grinding.... It is not like it has to be precision machined to remove 4 plugs.
OR you can order a $77+shipping uni-use tool and wait a week for it.

Agreed 100%. For that price you could try it 10 times and still not pass the 80 dollar mark.
cheapo racing 10.5's have inset heads on them such as that. considering the platinum 10.5s are a rediculous $40 each, the socket is a cheap investment.
granted those aren't NGKs so i have no idea what he has.

I have done this to mine, grab an angle grinder and start grinding until basically the socket edge becomes sharp. then sand it down to smooth it a bit, give it a good wash and go.
Yet its still not easy with the ground down socket. this is why Im chaning to the proper plugs next time.

i have done this 3 times, first time worked and had not problems grinding it, but i ended up dropping it from my shelf and it cracked the thin part, second time i ended up grinding it to much, third one i have had and have changed the plugs 4 times with it and doesnt look like its cracking or anything.
Do any of you guys have pix of a custom made socket b/c I'm having the same issue? Any pix would be appreciated =) Thanks guys Oh yes $77 for a darn socket lol RacingBeat is making a killing of this, I've given it some thought, but rather try to grind a regular socket first.
