Spacer between alternator and pulley?

I am returning to stock pullies and when switching back to the stock alternator pulley I noticed the pulley is very close to the alternator body. I am wondering if I am missing a small spacer or is thats how it is suppose to be?

If you are referring to the AC pulley (next to the alternator), yes there is supposed to be a spacer. In addition, the lip on the pulley should be on the engine side. I have seen them installed backwards before.

Don't recall seeing a spacer there when I install my IRP alternator.

There is no spacer, the pulley is close to the alternator.

Might lights were dimming at idle.

If your lights are dimming at idle you are either underdriving the alternator too much, have a different problem like a bad alternator or other electrical problem, or the idle is too low. What is the idle speed at?

Idle is set at 850. I tried two different alternators with the same result. I even put the stock water pump and alternator pulley on and tried to under drive the crank pulley instead with the same result.

My engine is out at the moment so won't be able to test the stock pullies. It did work fine before I added the under drive pullies though.
