Could be a lot of things, but smoke coming from the engine bay leads me to think you have an exhaust leak and maybe your turbos are bad(Possible cause of smoke), what are the specs of the car? Mileage? mods?

My car was doing the exact same thing, plus running on one rotor, turn out to be a stuck open secondary.

First, start by reviewing this thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/how-get-best-use-forum-911608/

Next, provide some information on the problem:

* Did you buy the car this way?

* If not, when did the smoke start?

* Have you looked from underneath at the turbos to see if there is oil leaking?

* Do you have any oil drips on the floor?

That smoke is pretty thick white. Does it smell sweet? Have you been losing coolant?

Also why in gods name do you have it revving at 2500 at idle? If it helps tap the gas and it should lower back down to normal.

Is there a substantial amount of oil in the intake track? Take off the elbow at the throttle body and look for oil.

Sorry to hyjack your thread. I have this exact problem, and yes I do have oil in the intake track. I don't know if it helps but it has bubbles in the radiator
