smoke and lots of it!

I have a missfire all the way through the rev range and when you hit 3500r.p.m onwards on full throttle it throws out loads of blue smoke finishing at 6500 r.p.m with a backfire and a big cloud of white smoke. I have changed the turbos, plugs, leads and oil pressure steppermotor in the last few weeks to try and cure it but i think it's the engine. Can anyone tell me if i'm right before i go and get one.And how hard are they to rebuild? and is it just easier at this point to get a 20b engine?

cheers for any replies, Paul.

Have you had a compression test done on the engine yet?

As far as a 20B, you should read this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/20b-forum-95/where-does-all-costs-come-59544/

As far as rebuilding the engine, it's not difficult to do; but it's difficult to do it right. You can purchase a video which can aid in stepping you through the process here:

How do you carry out a compression test on these engines? do you only remove the top plug or both, etc etc...??

Get a compression test done. That will let you know for sure. If you an't do the test yourself, it's usually only $50-65 to have a shop or a dealer do the test for you.

That $50-65 can save you a lot of headaches sometimes so it can be worth it.

how does it run, is it at least driveable?? Does the popping sound like an exhaust leak?? I hear popping noise from a rotary is not good if you let it run like that. When you say misfire, do the rythms skip? Could possible be an oil leak on the turbos.
