slug in the rain?

this may not be such a bad thing since its less likely that i'll be taken by the "second turbo suprise", but ive noticed that my car feels sluggish in the rain. throttle response sucks and boost is slower. i figure that it has something to do with the relative humidity, but i was wondering if anyone else has noticed this... specifically those with open intakes.

Does throttle response suck because your tires are spinning out?

I dont feel that throttle response or boost is worse. Of course, I dont exactly drive the car hard either in the rain.

I have CAI btw.

You can have rain with relatively low humidity, so that's probably not it. I've driven in the rain once....ONCE.

...and it was OK to me.

To me the rain makes it cooler and my car feels faster...just won't go as fast do to frequent slips and slides!

wide tires in deep puddles makes your car drive slower.

Have you disconnected the throttle body heat? If so, you could be experiencing icing in the throttle body.

I just got back from a long trip, and the last 200 km were in cold rain. The car is dangerously powerful, due to the cool intake temps. The danger results from less than ideal traction!

The charged air temps with the stock IC is between 150-250F above ambiant at WOT and around 70 at 55mph there is no way once the car is warmed up icing could occure unless you live at the south pole.

Mine seems a bit faster in the rain, probably because it cools the intake temps down a bit. I usually drive like a grandma in the wet anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
