I have never noticed an difference. Main thing with regard to noise is presence of a catalytic converter and choice of catback.

RB Dual is considered the most quiet after the stock catback.

^^ you are opening a full can of worms there

Some people claim 10 psi by 3k rpms, that's not the case for me.

I get full boost by 3.8k RPM and I have the FULL non-seq (not the por man's), I have CAI, PFS SMIC, DP, MP, CATBACK everything that is supposed to get me full boost at 3k but I don't.

Maybe in 3rd or 4th
With the stock 99's I hit 14 psi by 3500 RPM in 3rd in 1st on 2nd that a different story.

I'm not sure that lighter flywheel would help with boost.

Just for reference I don't think would make whole lot of difference at WTO on street it does help.

Yesterday I playing around with one of the 400HP GTO's on the way home. He thought he had the fastest car on the road... I was short shifting around 4k and was more less just loosing a little ground. We got head to head after a few more lights and he was talking some smack. With an uneventful launch he jumped ahead about a car link through 1st. I nailed 2nd moved passed him at a rather brisk pacelifting at about 80. At the next light he accused me of running NOS, I just laughed and said maybe I just have a faster car.

My point is that under 4K there just isn't enough torque to play with fast cars. In 3rd or 4th it's not as bad. No matter what the boost is all the power is from the upside of 4k.
