Since I use the FD as a DD...

I was thinking of some nice creature comforts. Don't get me wrong I'm a hardcore performance guy as well. I just want some imput on somethings.

Already done ~
Tints 15% all around
94 one touch window switch
JDM Armrest - My previous got stolen
Q-mat sound proofing

Planned ~
Short throw probably R.E
Convert all lights in interior to amber
Bi-Xenons - I have single beam HID's
Heated seats (Using the stock seats)
Double din (Non flip up) ~ Nothing flashy nice an clean cut. (Recommendations)
Shocks that aren't to brittle but drop the car nice and I can still have the best of both worlds.
Kill the drone as far as resonated midpipes go, I'm running a racing beat DT CB.

get an alpine head unit, always the best and last the longest and look the best(i love alpine), look into tein h-techs springs, they are the gold ones, had em in the past, not too low, and keep a great ride and unless your shocks are blown you can keep them for the softer ride. I have aftermarket catless dp and a bonez high flow cat on the way to get rid of the smell have decided on a cat back yet but leaning towards a tanabe touring medallion, looks good not too loud

Those are some good ideas. I'm not too sure about the Bi-Xenons or heated seats, but everything else looks useful.

Second skin has really good sound dampening stuff. Check the Interior section sticky.

Heated seats rock!

Its hard to beat the comfort of the stock shocks. They really do soak up expansion joints and such much better than any other shock I've tried. The Konis are comparable to the stock shocks at the full soft setting and you can set the ride height slightly lower using the adjustable spring perches.

I wouldn't bother with the short throw shifter. They always make the shifting feel notchier. Get some Redline MT90 in the tranny and call it a day.

The drone is hard to get rid of. The rx7store Magnaflow mid pipe ain't bad. Perhaps consider welding in another small round muffler in the straight pipe between the cat and the rear muffler.

The other stuff won't really do much IMO.

Don't want to thread jack, but I just noticed that you have the H-Techs. I'm looking for some springs and am considering them. They are progressive rate springs. They should be pretty comfortable, but did you happen to do any autocross with them? I'd like a slight lowering but also an improvement in hard driving performance over the stock that I have now.

I have the RB dual tip CB as well as the Bonez high-flo cat. I think the sound is great and not too loud. I'm an old guy that likes to listen to the radio when I drive. The biggest issue with noise is the road noise. I'd see what you can do with noise dampening as well as finding a tire that has low road noise.

Heated seats? The OP is a braver man than I. Driving in winter weather in NY in an FD? I've only driven mine in snow twice. That was two times too many.

Sure, I'll take some a little later if I get the chance.

As far as springs go I have S-techs and it is low. I'm just looking for a good shock that won't increase ride rigidity too much. Also I'm running a catless 3 inch DP but stock midpipe.

I also wanted to convert the brake booster to electronic instead of vacuum.

It was doing excellent till I under estimated boost creep with a straight pipe. Now it need s build but I'm confident it will be fine after this. Only downside is gas and trying to find legit parking spaces.

As far as double dins go I think I found my calling. I love HerbLennies double Din but it's a little out of budget hehe.

Haha, Welll I have volvo god forbid. If its heavy compact snow it's not bad but when it's that slick stuff I don't even chance it.

The FD in snow will really teach you how to "DRIVE" & car control.

IMO, anything darker than 35% is a hazard. You simply can't see well enough at night to be safe. Sure, you can see lighted objects such as headlights and tail lights, but at 15% I feel it is too dark to make out the unreflective and unlit objects, like children and pets. I'm almost 50, so I don't have quite the night vision of you young pups, but then again my night vision is a heck of a lot better than any of you who smoke. Since eyes and vision are something that I am an expert in, I tend to feel strongly about this.

All pictures of the car will do is tell you how nice the tints look from the outside. They don't tell you how functional the tints from the point of view that counts, sitting behind the wheel on a dark, rainy night.

Finally, the other thing to check is what is legal in your state. Each state varies and I think it is always a good idea to run a legal vehicle. (of course having said that, I still don't have my front plate mounted on my RX-7 even though it is a requirement in WA state).

Yes & No - Depends on your eye sight as well. Another thing is the color of the interior. I have tan so either way my cabin is always a tid bit more lit then black.

Another thing is upgrade your lights. It was a bitch seeing out the back at night when reversing but I installed LED's (VERY BRIGHT 26$ a pop but worth it). Now I can see fine as far as the front goes I have H.I.D's unfocused right now which light up a city block no problem.

I'm also working on retrofitting brighter LED's in the parking lights of the kouki style 93 lights which will add a bit more light.
