83 rear calipers?

Why are these so impossibly difficult to find? My car has been sitting on blocks for about a week now because I can't locate a set of calipers (piston housing on right rear is almost completely blown out, I wouldn't trust just a rebuild on it.)

I placed an order with discountautoparts and they accepted payment, only to refund me and tell me the parts they list as "in stock" aren't available.

This is my DD... I need it back on the road.

Heck, when I needed a replacement rear caliper for my 83, I found one in stock at a local parts store...... Granted, they only had the one, but it was for the correct side.

Rockauto here also. Put some sort of clear or paint on them. Mine are surface rusting after only 2 years in the vegas desert. So, basically just from washing the car...

you can also try local part stores like Napa and Advance Auto. they can order the calipers in without trouble.
