Side Exhaust for a FD?
I was wondering if anybody offered a side exhaust for an FD. I'd like to make a full diffuser for the back of my car without having the muffler in the way. Unfortunately I don't have a weld shop to fabricate it myself. Let me know if you know if any body has one or can make one.

I would imagine that almost any muffler shop could make a straight pipe with the correct flange for you.
The other option would be a simple turn-down pipe (if you are running cats and don't expect flames).

I think it would be pretty tricky to have side pipes, as the floorpan of the car isn't designed for it. You probably could do it, but they'd bottom out on anything, like speed bumps.

So would it be Possible to make a Dual Exhaust Kit for an FD like that on a FC? I bet it would be strictly cosmetic though right? I don't know Just wondering if anyone seen this on an FD before...?

Yes, they make low profile exhuast piping, it's acctually an oval shape.... You would probably have to use that, and put it out either in front/behind one of the rear wheels.
Wouldn't be to hard.

i would think that having a side exhuast would be fairly loud. i dont know of any kind of muffler that is short enought to make any kind of difference. then again it might not bother you so it might not make a difference. in anycase, i agree with wrankin, any muffler shop will beable to do it for you.

The exhaust on the M2 car is made like the one on Petitt's GTC car they used to race with. there is an extra section welded under the passengers seat to house the exhaust pipe.
