Shortening pedals.

I have trouble pressing my pedals. in order to properly work my pedals i have to " tipi toe" my foot. If i plant my size 13 foot straight down on the pedals the "plate" ends up almost on the arch/heel part of my foot. In stop and go traffic my cabs are on fire from pushing the pedals with the toes and constantly forcing my foot to swing in the air. does this sound retarded?

has anyone modified their pedals?

I don't see why you could'nt shorten them, You lose some leverage but size 13 feet must have some big leg behind them so that should'nt be a problem.

Get some ballet shoes if your sneakers are too voluminous.

Modify the seat rails to slide the seat back farther if you're legs are too long.

Has anyone successfully done this? I would love to get some additional leg/knee room in my car.

I also have size 13's, long legs, and a stiff clutch. I cannot drive with my foot straight up and down in any car and in my FD, my right foot is at 2pm because of the lack of room and tilt steering wheel.

I am looking to purchase a smaller steering wheel, possibly with a flat bottom section which should help. I would also love to modify the stock seat rails. I try to stay away from traffic by taking back roads that don't have as many stop lights.

I bough a pair of adidas running shoes ( the ones with the Goodyear logo on the rubber) and since those sneakers are thin they help a little.
