Shipping a transmission?

any of you guys have shipped out your tranny? What shipping or trucking company did you use and how much did you pay? thanks in advance.

You can use UPS. The tranni weighs 100 lbs packed up. Make sure you pack it up real good and get insurance.

UPS or FED Ex. I make a small wooden crate, bolt the bellhousing to the crate, wrap the tail of the tranny in some garbage bags, use that expanding foam found at Home Depot to partially fill the back of the crate. The tranny won't move anywhere. I've shipped several like that, diffs too.

I shipped out a 5 spd FD tranny from CA to IL for $70 shipping costs + $40 for packing.

Shipping depends on how far it is going. Just go to www.ups.com or fedex and do the estimating thing.
