Sequential Twins hitting 11s.

Who's in the 11s and running the sequential twins? I've noticed most of the members who broke into the 11s are non-sequential and I may have to go that route.

you could get 11 s with either setup and all the bolt ons...just run 15 psi.

sequential is harder on the turbos at higher boost and thus the reason for running nonseq. when upping the boost. I believe it can be done but I have never seen or heard of it.

Well, most guys have have had thier cars long enough and done enough work to get into the solid 11's have replaced the engine. When you get to the point that you have a ton of mods and your replacing the engine and tuning to make power you just dont want the hassle of putting all that crap back in there. Thats why most of them are non seq.

You can make just as much power either way, it wont really matter. Running 15psi on seq is harder on the turbos like mentioned before but I ran that way for about 6 months with no problems.

Why would you ever want to even try and get in the 11s? The FD is not a drag car.
'Nuff said.

I'd say Steve Kan and Ari Yallon's cars do quite well in drag format...

I ran an 12.06 in November, granny shifting and I expect to break into the 11s at the first thaw just by powershifting. My car is 100% street legal, sequential twins, with a cat & a ported motor but I still pass Maryland's clean air treadmill.

To get well into the mid 11s you must get rid of the cat & use a mid-pipe. At that point you run afoul of the law. Depending upon the state you live it, a mid-pipe may be too much of a pain.

However, everybody running well into the 11s is non-sequential and with a mid-pipe. I think a touch into the 11s is about all you can hope for with sequential turbos and a cat, but for a daily driver that ain't bad!

The DJ ran 11.3, sequential with a midpipe, and some other mods, the fastest sequential time I have heard of. The fastest non-sequential I know of is Kevin Wyum at 11.1, non-sequential, custom turbos and a midpipe.

Of course the single turbo guys like Ray Wilson get into the 9s.

I don't think I've seen anyone run 11's with the seq. setup yet.

BTW, the FD does make a good drag car, but it's true strengths and design don't lie in drag racing. I guess this just goes to show how great the 7 platform is. lol

Are you wanting a drag car or a street car? Or a "streetable" drag car?

I'll bet a dollar to a donut that any FD that routinely runs in the 11s is not a daily driver!

I STILL just do NOT understand the desire to take such a horribly low-torque engine and try to make it do things it was never intended....but to each his own, I guess.

Bajaman: Exactly !!!>>...but to each his own, I guess.<<

You go tell all those Honda/Acura guys they're not suppose to be drag racing!!!

I have a full interior/daily driver 11sec car on radials...and there's plenty more out there......

And by the way....how's 363.5 rear wheel torque on stock turbos/motor???

I know exactly what kind of mods and tuning it takes to get into the 11s. I was just wondering who had a sequential setup that ran 11s because from what I can remember 1 out of 10 are non-seq. My goal is a daily driven 11s drag car. I enjoy dragging and I also hope to get into road racing also. I believe AnthonyNYC was the fastest on stock twins running 11.1 or 11.2@122mph. I believe Kevin had upgraded turbos. Thanks for the replies!

I believe Silver7 on the NE forum has run consistent low 11's with a ported motor and sequentials. He runs a Haltech, large intercooler w/sprayer, etc. It's street driven. The car is also setup very well for kicking a$$ in autocross. If you contact him or get him to post, he has a web site listing his mods...

Thanks for the link Mahjik, that guy has a pretty good setup. Do you know if he has any dyno sheets he can post for comparisons to a similarly powered non-seq setup?
