S7 --> S6 loom swap over , questions

Im dropping a S7 engine into my S6 and I need to change the loom over to a S6.
I'm just wondering about wether the solenoid rack . Will the series ^ loom plug straight into the S7 solenoid rack ? or will I have to use a S6 solenoid rack as well?

ok , so now I'm getting a little confused.

I rang a local rotary workshop today and told them what I was trying to do ( Take a complete Series7 motor , loom , ECU , harness etc ) and drop it into a series 6 and they have told me that as long as I have the ECU and the harness out of the Series 7 and transfer it all over it will connect up and be fine.

I've had people say to me " oh the S7 ECU has different pugs etcc... " but that doesnt matter as I have the S7 ECU so that doesnt make sense to me.

No one seems to be able to tell me ( if I have all the complete S7 longblock , GB, Loom , harness etc..) what plugs adzactly wont connect up?

if someone can list for me the connectors that will cause me problems with the S7 setup going into a S6 car , then maybe I can go through it to help me understand why it wont work

The concern im seeing here, is whether or not the s7 loom will connect to the dash control loom.
The clips should be the same, you might have to move pins around, But I dont know.

I checked my series 8 dash loom. a white connector and a blue one, and they look exactly like the series 6.

Can you take off the series 7 loom and see if it can plug in? What happened to the series 6 engine harness?

series 6 loom has gone , car still has s6 harness ( part of loom attached to car) .

I just think its ludicrous that I would have to change the entire loom , soldenoid box over to a series 6 for the sake of a couple of plugs that dont fit under the dash, surley you can cut off the S7 plugs and simply replace with S6 ones ?

The other thing I forgot to mention is that I also have the entire Series 7 harness ( part of loom thats attached to the car ) . So maybe all I have to do is replace the existing S6 harness with the S7 one ?

I would put the series 7 motor and engine loom in, and try and connect it to the series 6 dash loom. Cross your finger and see if it works.
