don’t want to detract from the thread too much, but have you checked the Amp draw on the RX8 fans? Because the RX8 has a 40A fused cooling fan wiring system from the factory. The FAL420 dual 12” shrouded fan set I mentioned earlier is rated 2500 CFM with a 22A draw and is better flowing than the RX8 fans. There’s also the FAL490 set that also fits the RX8 thats flows 3000 CFM @ 29A rated draw. The fans are slightly taller than the 420 set, but the rest of the dimensions are the same. I’m not sure how the RX8 radiator dimensionally compares to the FD either and there might also be other consideration like the intercooler and such that might interfere. I’m not really sure.

I've seen custom FD shrouds and aftermarket fans for a vmount application. The front mount guys might have enough room for custom fans. I suspect platform packaging rx7/rx8, combined with a sufficient stock setup, is why we don't see more custom setups here.
I forgot to mention, the new screws with the crush washers are very fragile, be careful not to overtighten like I did...or order a few extra just in case.

Well supposedly the RX8 motors & fan impellers only output 1250 cfm on high speed, vs 2500 cfm for the FAL420 or 3000 cfm for the FAL490, but with the FD3 fan impellers on the RX8 motors I can't really claim to know what the cfm output is

I added another 8 seals to the order after this. The extra seals were for making an entirely new harnesses, and I think I had planned on swapping the FD connectors over to the RX-8 style also, but I haven't done that.

These are the connectors to adapt to the S2 RX-8 fan motors, so if that's what you meant, yes. lol You can also put these on the end of a GReddy harness if you have VMIC, or use these to make a harness to adapt to the stock connectors. I was going to change the original FD connectors to the RX-8 style but I had a hard time getting the wires out of those connectors and it didn't seem like the juice was worth the squeeze, so I gave up. I had bought the mating connectors for these on Amazon but they're not original Sumitomo. Corsa didn't have them on their site yet and Sarah said it would be several weeks at least before they had them. I'm not sure if they have them by now.

I have to change connectors to make it fit. So either i buy the ones you linked and replace the original connectors on the RX-7 fan harness, or i buy the ones from cycleterminal and replace the ones on the fan motor.
Since the one you linked are sealed, they should be marginally better.
The black ET250 connectors referenced in this thread do not actually fit the FD fan connectors; too small if I recall correctly. I did a roundabout solution by ordering the Greddy fan extension, then splicing that harness to the applicable connectors of the RX8 fans so that I could achieve plug-n-play for my project (going PWM w aftermarket fan controller but maintaining stock relays in case I ever need to revert back to OEM control).
The RX8 fan connections are identical to a Nissan 2009 Maxima & similar year models so I found some pre-wired fan connectors on eBay to complete the effort. (I believe the fans are the same, too, but didn't/don't have a need to confirm at the moment. Photos I've seen of the Nissan models do appear to be the same fans, though.)

That's why I was going to change them all over. I like them sealed, but I ran out of patience trying to get the stock connector apart lol.
For sealed high current E-fan connectors, my go to for a job like these conversions would be the 4-way Deutsch DTP connectors (pictured). The closed barrel DTP terminals accept 14-12AWG wire, and they have open barrel DTP terminals that will accept up to 10AWG wire if you beef up the fan wiring. Just rewire both sides of the connection and save yourself the headache of finding the mating OEM connector shell & terminals
I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned anywhere, but what are you guys doing to clip the RX-8 motor connectors to the fan shroud? Initially I just used zip ties and rigged them in a way to hold the connectors, but it didn't work very well over time and I like a more sure setup, even for little things like this. It's all about the details. I know the RX-8 shroud had the clip built in but I figured maybe there's a stock clip of some kind that might work, so I went to Mazda today and their parts department didn't help much. I thought about going to some other dealerships but I figured they'd be even less willing to help since it's a Mazda. I stopped at Autozone on the way home and found something that works pretty well. I already modified it before this but I didn't change it too much.

I put it in sideways, but I had to file down the ends a little bit, and I also had to file down the top a little. I also filed the middle of it and an edge on each side so it wouldn't be as difficult to remove from the connector later if I needed to, due to the little retaining nub on the connector (seen in the second pic here). It still fits very tight in the groove though so it doesn't move freely.

Has anyone else come up with a better solution already? I figure there must be a connector out there somewhere that fits without modification, although this took less than 10 minutes for both and I'm very happy with it so far. And it was about $4.
That is a good find, the older Mazda's do not have anything like that cataloged, you buy the whole harness. the newer Mazda's have stuff separate, and maybe one of these would work
try saying clip clamped harness five times fast....
I noticed last night that the clips weren't completely engaging. The sides weren't popping out to lock in place, it was basically just jammed in there. So it took some more filing of the sides, as you can somewhat tell the difference between the two in this pic, and removing the foam piece. It's not a perfect solution but with a little work it's good enough for me.

Looks like maybe one of the first two in the upper left, or maybe even the third one from the left would work.
Reviving this, but just did the swap, and my drivers side fan, the new 5 blade, is sticking from contact with the shroud. Was there something I missed in here? I've even tried flipping the fans so the 5 is on the passenger, and the 7 sticks a bit as well. S2 fans and motors from Ray.
EDIT: False alarm, pulled the motor and retightened with the bottom screws first, this tilted the motor enough to clear the blades.

Hi guys just wandering in terms of the rx8 fan wiring, I have a 1995 Fd3s jap spec and am a little on the fence in terms of what wire goes to what, I have some re amemiya harness extension that I have wired in where the radiator support is as you can see from the pics, but want to know on the rx8 fan side what is the light blue, light green the white and black, any help will be appreciated thank you
You may need to get a hold of the wiring diagram. Not 100%. I cut the wires on the motor side and spliced on the male ends from the old motors matching color to color.
