Rx7 worth buying? Please help

Hello, i'm new here, sorry. Couldn't find another spot to post this. I am looking at a 1993 Mazda RX-7 Touring. It's Red and a 5 speed. So the car itself has about 83,000 Miles and the engine has about 5,000 Miles. The engine along with Turbo has been replaced ( says its Twin Turbo but only replaced "turbo" not "turbos". Also says she has a vacuum tie job and a greddy turbo timer and the A/C needs to be charged. Claims she has all the paper work to go with this all.

My main concern is, in your opinions, is this a mistake or will this be a good buy? She is asking 12,000 or b/o. Any suggestions on price changes? Please any and all help would be great.

Any and all help / suggestions would be amazing, Thanks!

If you do end up buying it, make sure you have a couple grand in the bank available to fix anything that you find wrong. It's very likely that you will. (Engine mounts, suspension bushings, regular maintenance that hasn't been done, ect). It would be a good idea to look closely at what was done with the engine replacement. It's entirely possible that they cut some corners when they did it and you could expect to see some things pop up.

Make sure you also check for body damage.

Thanks, yes, body is in good shape, nothing major. Also, I planned on spending the few dollars to take it to a mechanic during the "test drive" to have the engine checked out. So if i do buy the car, I'm not spending hundreds or even thousands in repairs so quickly. Also, if they find major problems with anything, negotiate a price for the car as well.

I bet the first thing the mechanic will say is that it's missing a timing belt. you'd better take that car to a reputable rotary mechanic. Goodfella's shop is in New Jersey too I believe.

Some A/C parts are difficult to obtain, so try to find out where the leak is beforehand, what needs to be replaced, then negotiate appropriately.
