Rx7 FD 13b Identifer
I was wondering if there is any way to identify what year a 13b came out of? specifically, if it came out of an rx7-fd 93-95. I found a good deal for one off CL for 100 dollars. Just the bare block. Here are some pictures.

I'm not sure what that came from, but it doesn't look like the 13BREW from my 1994 RX-7. I see a few things that look different, like spark plug bosses, water pump housing, OMP nozzles, intake manifold gasket shape, and oil pan shape. It might be a Renesis engine from an RX8, but I'm not familiar enough with those to say for sure. Here are some good 13BREW photos from an engine remove/rebuild thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...6/#post1506064

That's an RX-8 motor for sure. There's no exhaust ports in the rotor housing and it has the different front cover/water pump housing.
There's 2 variations of the RX-8 motor, a series 1 and series 2. I'm not sure which it is, but digging around on the RX-8 forum you should be able to find an answer.
Probably would be worth tearing the motor down, cleaning it, and selling the parts. Parts will probably be worth more than the block since a buyer can't be guaranteed what condition the motor is in. The fact that it's not in a car means the motor is probably blown.

Rx8 engine for sure. probably S1, blue tag means it was a Mazda rebuild
S1 = oil filter in the normal spot
S2 = oil filter on the front cover
